Rear Shock Questions/Problems

I have an MR-02 Ferrari F50 RML. I noticed that in RCU's Mini-Z Review the reviewer put the rear shock on his Ferrari. I didn't know you were supposed to do that, so I decided I would try it. Well, some of my parts look slightly different from his. In this picture the piece in the top looks different from mine. I have that piece, but it doesn't have anything in the middle. I tried putting one of the screws in it, but the rear shock still doesn't stay. Also, which of the rear shock mounts am I supposed to use? I know it's either the L or the M, because the S is too small.

The upper rear shock won't work fit under the F50 body anyways, so don't sweat it unless you are going to change bodies.

Is the rear shock even necessary? I just figured that I should try putting it on after breaking my stock suspension/H-plate. And about it not fitting, I could always take an X-Acto knife to it. Or a Dremel if I wanted to have some fun.

The reviewer should have never mounted the shock on the F50 RML and that is probably why he wrote that the shock rubbed on the body in the same article. I also contacted RCU about the article some time ago and later received an email from the person who wrote the article basically claiming that Kyosho reviewed the article prior to its release though the review was never changed.

There is also an optional two shock set-up that will work with the F50 and I am currently running it on my F50 RML though I'm not all that excited about its performance, so I may even remove it sometime down the road. By the way, the alloy motor pod shown in the linked photo will not work with the F50 since it hits the rear of the body--that I did remove already.
