Guys.. I need some help here. I have 8 sets of new ic3's i found at a radio shack... I have 2 chargers and they both work well. I have 6 packs of intellects and 5 atomic mods packs as well. I cant charge them on the ic3 chargers... or i dont want to.. i have an LRP comp 2 charger and a 4 cell aaa tray i have charged them on.. I just have no idea what the best settings are? I want to set up a program to re-peak them but I dont want to mess the cells up..
Any suggestions? Do these cells charge like reciever packs.. if so the only settings are for 8 cells not 4 in the manual... and receiver packs are aa's?
It depends on how long you want your packs to last and whether your racing or just playing around. Personally, on my ICE, I always peak charge (reflex) with a 3mv detection setting at 1.5C... I find that gives them good punch with long life. If you want even more punch, charge at 2C, but be aware that the cells will get warmer and there longevity will suffer.
If your just playing around, then charge at 1C... it will give you the most run time out of the cell's.
what does 3 mv mean.. my charger has the settings at 1.2 for reciever packs and 30mv detection.. 4 volts input..
I changed the settings to 1.5 and 40mv..linear.
the 3mV is per cell, so a 4 cell pack would be 12mV. It is a setting for how sensitive the peak detection should be, the lower the more likely it is to false peak (tho it is safer). Also depends on the battery you are using, you'll just have to charge and see how it goes. The 1.2 is probably 1.2A and is your charge current.

Peak detection in simple terms is when your putting voltage in, and the voltage it will take drops off. The amount it drops off by is the voltage that your charger is looking for. The lower the drop off, the cooler the battery is when finished charging (imaging eating a full meal - you know when your done. If you eat for another 10 minutes... you'll feel sick. Eat for another 25 minutes and your really sick...)
So I set my delta peak to a low 3mv per cell, because my charger can lock out the first ten minutes of charging (typical time for a false peak.)
I would suggest you use the 1.5A setting on your charger, but run with a lower peak threshold... 20mv or lower if possible.
