Hey guys im looking to pick up a mini z for the house this winter. Would like to get something that's there's hop ups for. Would like to drift it. And later down the line go brushless unless there's a affordable breakfast one out.
It will be hard to find an awd that is new in that price range. You will need a perfex kt18, perfex ex5 or ex10 radio that is mini-z specific asf as well.

Thanks for the info what other options r there at a higher price range
The higher price range would be the ma-020ve pro kit and the ex-6. I think the shop here carries both of those. The total price on those would probably be cose to $600. With that you get the same chassis but upgraded electronics, brushless motor and a radio that gives you an infinite amount of adjustability and multiple car memory.
Another option for low budget would be the AWD Sports. But you can't upgrade with faster motors or brushless later. Buying a separeted board + motor for upgrading an used ASF to brushless doesn't worth the price in my opinion.
So basically you are looking for something to amuse yourself with over the winter. That being the case the AWD sports series should be more than adequate for that purpose. Since speed and extra power aren't going to be your ally under any circumstance plus the fact that all of the "hop ups" that fit the chassis will indeed fit the "sport" series it seems like a no brainer. As you progress along with Kyosho into the beginner market there will be plenty of time to select an alternative direction when considering your level of participation.
In the beginning look for durability improvements. The car with the smallest pinion gear will give you way more speed than you will be able to cope with. While you play chase the cat just remember to always keep the body on. A table leg will have a devastating on the exposed suspension pieces.

thansk for input im not new to rcs just the lil things lol. i run 1/8 electric
I was speaking of the "S" series and Kyosho's involvement in the beginner(product as opposed to end user)phase of the market as opposed to the higher end segment.
There are those among us that use the Z's in the off season to stay sharp for the 1/8th on road season. They actually equate pretty evenly.
