Hope to start competeing in the time trials real soon, just wondering which direction we are supposed to run, clockwise or counterclockwise? Thanks for helping the NEWB out.

Are we going to race last year time trials or
are we going to race time trial from this year
Season 3 tracks. I think that would be the
best way of doing this. You have the track
set up for HFAY all ready. We as a club run
time trials and it is part of our club pionts.

go ahead and run the tracks for this season as time trials. When I have the time I'll add those pages to the Hfay site.

Thanks for the info!! I hope to have my tracks(2 wide L's) and my Giro Z lap counter sometime soon... If I buy 2 wide L's will I be set? What else do I need? I read the HFAY getting started but thought maybe some of you old pro's could enlighten me as to anything else I would need.... Thanks again!!

Phil

you need the 2 wide L's and the Giro Z and 2 other racers and you will be all set.

if you just want to do time trials you run them solo. if you have 3 or more participants you will want to join in on the OLPS (online points series). Here is a direct link to the OLPS Manual. Read through it and let me know if you have any other questions.

HFAY OLPS Season 3 Manual

here is the Season 3 page on the HFAY site

here's a question....

try doing a time trial clockwise... then do a reverse track set up, like a mirror image of the track, and try running it counter clockwise...

do you think lap times would decrease/increase?

just thinking because of some turn bias... left turns ok, but right turns tend to spin out...

your thoughts...

Herman, in the OLPS we race both directions on the same track for 2 different races and utilizing the same track.

some do better some don't

i was thinking of doing a mirror image of the track i.e. if there was a simple L config
like below
:_

the mirror imaged track would be
_:

run both races clockwise and counter clockwise...

and well i guess like you said some will do better, and some don't...

main thing is whether to run most tracks clockwise or counterclockwise due to the turn bias... (left turns ok, but right turns tend to spin out...)
