MR01 cars don't have brakes, assuming the board is original

I would say no. If it's just the body you want you can find that seperately. No real reason to back in time to the MR-01.

all mr-01 bodies will fit the mr-015 (nascar). you can even get the pn racing mr-015 conversion tower bars to run many of them on the mr-02 as well.

yes, some mr-01's have breaks. i believe it started with the 427 shelby cobra or mr-01f release. howerver this was just before they phased out hte mr-01 and released the mr-015.

the mr-01 is still a good car. i would not invest money into upgrading them but they are still a worthwhile purchase if you can get them cheap. it will however only get harder to get parts for them since they are no longer in produciton.

eventually, they will be collectable

I can get it for USD113 plus shipping...the car alone cost USD95.
Is it cheap?

it's kinda hard to find nice autoscale body...

if the servo box on the mr01 is black and it has glosscoated body. you may get one with the brake function. mine came with the brake fuction when I bought the PT Cruiser RTR kit.

retail value in different country may varie, so if it's cheap to you may not to cheap to us. I bought my MR01 PT cruiser RTR for $60 which turned out to be an awesome deal because it has the same board as the MR015/02.

for the 2F2F EVO you can get the autoscale on ebay for around $40 USD shipped from Japan, but the ready-set does come with the under glow I believe.
