Marka Racing tires?

Has anyone else tried out the new Marka Racing tires and can comment on them?

I was able to try out a couple sets last week (we run on RCP smooth side):

- 10 deg V1 rears: very good, about comparable in grip to the Slot It F22 rears I usually run.

- 10 deg V1 fronts: soft, way too much grip, instant traction roll. I couldn't even manage enough laps to break them in after truing.

- 15 deg V1 front: too much grip at first, had to break them in for a few packs after truing. After that grip is still a bit too much, more than the PN X15's or NSR 5229's I usually run. Traction rolls every several laps.

I have on order the 20, 25, and 30 deg V1's and V5's to try out as well, hopefully I can find a good front/rear combination that works. It will be interesting to see how long these tires will last, the rear slot tires already last an amazingly long time.

If you are traction rolling try adjusting your setup or by gluing the sidewall of the front tires. Sometimes having a glued sidewall will improve corner speed and drivability

Rubber or foam? Diameter(rough)? Cross section(rough)?

My apologizes, I thought others had seen them already.

Tires are purpose made for Mini-z's on RCP track, same dimensions as normal Kyosho/PN tires. All rubber, not foam, no silicone, no urethane. I found out about them after seeing them on the Marka Racing social media page, they were used at the recent PNEC.

More info here:

http://www.minizracing.it/minizshop/...h=65_85_91_741

Rears I have been running untrued, fronts trued down to 22.5mm which is what I normally run. One downside is that they are coming from Italy, it took ~2 weeks for my first order to arrive.

They are the best tires made for mini-z made!
The rear tires have so much grip and lasts long.
Front tires have too much grip but rumor saying more is coming soon.

Not cheap but definitely interested in trying them once domestically distributed.

Ok, I ordered a wider range of compounds, I was able to test them today. This time only took 8 days to arrive from Italy.

I tried these out:
V1 - 20, 25, 30 deg fronts

V5 - 20, 25, 30 deg fronts

All the tires are slicks, no tread patterns. Subjectively the V1 compound is softer than the same degree in V5 and feels stickier. The V5 is firmer and feels less sticky. There is only a slight difference in durometer between the different degrees.

I think all of V1's are still a bit too sticky, still prone to traction roll and maybe a bit less precise as they feel somewhat soft.

The V5's were very good, grip had a good balance with the rears and felt more precise than the V1's. I would say the 30 degree's have similar or a little less grip than X15's, the 25 degree's have similar or a little more grip than X15's, the 20 deg have even more. For rough comparison these are the steering rate settings that I ended up with for each tire:

PN X15 -> 61%
V5 25 deg -> 57%
V5 20 deg -> 53%

I can't yet comment on how long they last, I will try them out next race session. I am hoping grip lasts a long time, as I generally need to true the X15's every couple of runs or so to maintain traction.

New here but not new to Mini-Z. I have to chime in on these tires.
The local club is now 90% Marka tires.

They last long, and do not change much when stored for a few weeks either.

Our club has been trough several phases of prefered tires over the years.
Early on it was the GPM tires, then Kyosho & SSG, then PN, Then slot tires, and now most people are on the Marka tires.

All Marka tires have much more grip than any mini-z tire available.

The difference between V1 & V5 are the compound. They have the same shore hardness but with different rubber mixture. They offer a very different feel.

looks like most the the V5 are sold out already at PN store. not sure there is another domestic distributor?

i suppose we should start seeing more reviews being posted with PN selling thru their initial stock.

Didnt notice PN sold them. Nice.
Faster to get parts from Kenon to europe than to buy from european shops

I've been running the Marka tires for a little over a month now, mainly the fronts. Thus far they've been very favorable.

Mainly I've been running the V5F20's in combination with F22 slot car rears (since I already had a stockpile of them). I started out at 22.5mm, after about 4 race days and a few practice sessions they have worn down to about 22.1 mm. Grip has been very consistent, no re-truing required and they have not changed traction noticeably over the month.

I can't comment too much on the rears as I've only run a few practice sessions with them, the V1's still grip about the same as the F22 slot rears, the V5's feel a little bit harder and a bit less grip. Also have not changed grip noticeably a month or so after mounting them.

With PN now carrying them, we have several other racers at our track trying them out as well.

Exclamation Marka tires V6

Anyone tried Marka tires V6 ? Could you comment and compare with former versions V1 and V5 please?

The combo that has worked for me is V5 F15/ V1 R10...
