GPM wide rears vs. Kyosho's wide rears

Something I've always wanted to ask, but never have...

I know the kyosho wide rear rims actually extend out farther than the stock kyosho rims, meaning they will hit the body if the suspension is compressed. What about the GPM's?? I know they are wide in the rear, but is the wideness inside the body and they go out as far as stock rims, or do they stick out just as far as the wide kyosho rims, or are they a happy (or mabye not so happy) medium between the 2?

It's just been buggin me for a while and wanted to know...

Thanks all!!!!
Russ

Russ,
I took some measurements of different wheels trying to discover how different wheel sets tracked, the discussion can be found here:

I measured one car with narrow rims (mine), one Mercedes which has wide rims, one car with GPM's, etc...

Hope this helps.

My GPM's are wider than stock of course, but the they sit wider overall.

When I had the stock tires, they'd tuck very neatly under the car, too much IMO actually. The GPM's I have now are wider. They'll scrub a little bit under compression.

They should have higher offsets,

offset

I have the same question even after reading the replies. The stock wheels on my viper are 8.5mm wide. According to their website the gpm wheels are 10.5mm wide in the front and 11.5mm wide in the rear. the question is how are the gpm wheels offset? Offset is measured on a real race car from the inner edge of the wheel to the center of the wheel. So if you have the width of the wheel and the offset (measured from the inner edge of the wheel to the center of the wheel) you can compare wheels. Do the gpm wheels come in different offsets? And what is width and offset on a clk wheel.

GPM makes two types of wide rims actually, the originals are wider, but the hub is actualy inset so that the outer edge of the tire is about the same (maybe slightly wider) as where the outer edge of the stock tire would be. They also make the CLK-style offset hubs (for use on the CLK).
