Awd Ol...

hi guys
based on an idea of "lemecanodejante", look what we've done with 2 of our OL

need 2 rear gear box and 2 stock motors (do not use Xspeed or more):

need a micro-servo (like on mini-dragonfly for ex, choose one about 13 to 17NM/cm):

pull out (off?) the 2 electro-plates, just keep motor and "potar" (don(t know the word lol):

green and orange from the ESC should be fixed like that:

red is +, orange is - (originaly black), from the ESC to the motor:

then rebuilt the micro-servo, and put the 2 motors on the ESC:

then you should have to find your own solution to fix the micro servo (depending of the size of it):

one of the rear gear box is use for direction:

hope you understand with my poor explanations...

Wow from some reason I understand how to build It and by potar do you mean potention meter i guess, also what does the face of the servo look like. where the brand and model number is.
And maybe a shot of the linkage connected to the steering gear box.
Anyways cool idea so simple yet very complicated like K'nex.
very cool

Oh yeah maybe you should try to make 4 wheel steering
and you could do it with on servo.
all you need is to put another linkage near the rear left tire on the the same servo horn and it'll steer like a monster truck.

yes, that's it, potention meter
for the moment, I don't have pics of the face of the servo
the one I used is "Multiplex MS X3" (about 30bugs)

this was my first idea, but for some reason (I can't explain it in english lol), it doesn't work very well with 4WS

great, great, great
I can go everywhere you want with the 2 blocked gear (diff)
there's no comparison with the 2WD, this is especially good at crawling...

my web-site is out of order for the moment, but I got a few action pics, and a little video to come!!

Hi, I am not sure if anyone still read this anymore but I need to ask kokopelli.

The AWD is awesome! But can anyone direct me on how to connect the second motor to the ESC? Help, need some advice on this. Thanks!

I think I understand, in general, how to do this trick mod. But I've got a couple specific questions:

1. You say to connect green & orange from ESC to the servo pot, and the red & orange (originally black) from ESC to servo motor, then connect both stock Kyosho motors to the ESC. The wires from the ESC are green, orange, red, and black. So why hook red & orange from ESC to servo motor? Why not red & black? If that is correct, where does the black go?

2. The red & black from the Kyosho motors just both hook up straight to the ESC, right?

3. How do I know exactly which color wire to hook up on the servo pot and servo motor? Do the colors coming from the OL correspond with standard servo wire colors (the ones currently attached to the new servo)?

Thanks for the help. I'm working on my own custom 4WD Monster and just need clarification.
