Animals chasing R/C

It seemed to be a good idea to start a topic to tell how your cat/dog or whatever chases your R/C car

I'll begin,

I have 4 cats in the house they all (accept for one) get kinda "strange" when I drive around the livingroom... when I stop they watch it closely and try to sneak closer... when they get close enough, they sniff it like it's a dead bird or something... then I hit the gas and the car takes off , they all run like creazy to get away from it... when it's not moving they don't seeme to know that is can... but they've seen it riding around the room just seconds before...

well that's it, kinda boring though

Grtz

From one cat lover to another,

TNB are just animals around the Mini-Zs and the Xmod.

Bennie is the most aggressive. To him, the RCP Mini-Tile and all the RCs belong to him. I think he likes the Overlands the best though and probably even the Pajero setup the most since it was easiest for him to flip over and pick it up with the wheels off the ground. Bennie also became upset and vocally told me off several times when I covered the 1:4 scale since he can no longer sleep on it. Also, when I start to pick up the RCP track, he'll lay on it refusing to move so I can't put it away. Soon I'll have to clean the track if I want to do some serious running since it has lots of cat tracks and body marks after the last few nights.

Tigger on the other hand watches more than chases. However, if there is a crash, he pounces. The F1 with the CP front bumper is easy pickings as far as Tigger is concerned since it gets stuck under the rail. For me, it becomes a tug-of-war between Tigger and the RCP Track rail when I try to remove the F1.

As most know, there are lots of photos in Gallery TNB. Sometimes pictures "are" worth a 1000 words.

you should see my track video's you'll see my brother's dog constantly racing up and down the side of the track like he's watching his lunch run by over and over. after were done i have to go back and clean all the drool off the track edge

at home, my dog just looks at my z's as more an annoyance than anything. the cats on the other hand are fun. they take pot shots at them as they pass by

Not to be a buzz kill, but just be careful driving around animals. Cats and even large dogs can sustain injuries from a speeding Z. Owners of Zs and pets should also inform their guests. They might think it's harmless. Running into them on purpose is just abusive.

Z-tip: Is your animal getting bored with your Z but you wanna be chased for some good evasive driving practice? Tie some thread to your antenna with a colorful tangled knot at the end, or a small feather.

I'll make it as clear as I possibly can, I "do not", I repeat "do not", and I reiterate, I "do not" run into TNB on purpose. I never wrote that nor did I ever write that I run into TNB on purpose. Bennie does the chasing! Tigger does the pouncing! As far as that goes, Bennie is only around the R/Cs in the house because he stays indoors. Consequently, the cars aren't going that fast inside. And though Tigger watches the R/Cs outside on the RCP Track, he "watches" and "pounces" only when they are stuck in the rail. I have "never" hit TNB with an RC car on purpose or by accident though I may have pulled up next to Bennie when he is sitting on the track and gave him a little push when he refuses to move only to watch him swat the R/C car or even lay on it and pick it up. And as far as the foregoing posts, I cannot seem to locate where anyone else has ran into their pets on purpose. Perhaps, I am over reacting, but I take offense at your insinuation since I love TNB and they are even provided for in my will which is more than I can say for most pet owners. Are your pets provided for in your will?

I have a dog (Mitzi) that's just bigger than a cat that loves to chase my F40 around. She figured out that she can lift the rear spoiler to stop it, she cannot catch it till the batteries start going down. My others she is board with. I guess my F40 is not only fast but turns quick as well, keeps her on her toes.

Whoa! I wasn't insinuating anything. My post was not directed at you,TNB or anyone in particular. Your love for TNB is very evident.

Be it spiteful or innocent, a Z's mass and momentum is under estimated, especially by an inexperienced RC enthusiast. I've seen and heard both sides of this scenario, so I was compelled to post for the sake of any animal's safety. I'm not making accusations. Prevention is the best medicine. I posted to inform, not offend.

thanks for the tip ken. "now you know, and know is half the battle"

it was just a friendly warning to unexperienced owners not to drive into the pets, which assume everyone is smart enough not to do. we all know we are all not that smart though i've nundged my pets trying to provoke a challenging chase but that is about the extent of it, not that they ever took the bait another thing to be careful about while driving next to them is the hair it's not easy trying to trim tangled dog hair off a diff because you stray too close to a tail full of long fur not to worry he wan't harmed. just very upset

My cats do something simalar to what Dutch's cats do only they run away when i turn my ol on then come back and watch from a distance and when it stops they run up to it bat and run away for no reason.

They might chase it if someone made a rat looking cover for the body.

To my cat, the chasing game is way done. He was at his best with the nylon thread "bug" and then "bird". Now he's more interested in the RCP track although he's gotten over licking the finish line obsessively. I'm glad he doesn't scratch on it but finds it comfortable, and it is. I've napped on it myself.
The funniest thing, one time I caught him walking a lap!

The one thing I don't have to worry about my dog has short hair. And I don't have to tag her to get her to run after it. She can get in front of my F40 but my living room is small enough that I cannot get enough speed to hurt her. Now outside on my driveway my Z can get up to speed. My other Z's have quicker throttle response (stock fets), but my dog will not chase them. She tries to chase my Clod outside, I have to be more careful on that and go slow for her.

My dog is just the opposite. He is a full sized Lab-mix (with a Pit ull, he is a lab with really cool coloring)

Anyway, my OL scares the crap out of him, I chase him around the house all the time. It's always a good time. You'd think he wouldn't be afraid of it, but he always runs, and then the chase is on!

Pets & Zs

My Pitt Bull just swallows them whole.
Then I got to follow him around with a bag for a few days to get it back.
His digestive system removes the lovely gloss coat finish too
