looking for a good RM damper
I've got a hopping RM car in my garage now and it really needs a disk damper. I've used atomic, PN and 3Racing but they are all MM. ANyone know of a good RM one? Or am i making one this weekend?

I'm running the Atomic DPS version 2, and I have been really happy with it. although it is alot of pieces and can be complicated to assemble.

The 3racing DDS works on RM as well.

I know Machine said “disk” damper but for a hot motored rear mount I really like a foam damper.

I second that, I have had no problems running the 3racing disk damper on an RM chassis...

I'll try my PN damper, setup like the 3racing damper. I'll also try the LBRC Patented Technological Advanced Micro Celluar Foam Damper.
Thanks guys, gives me a good start into the realm of RM.

I have a couple of the 3R disc dampers, one mounted MM and one mounted RM, both work great!

Are you sure you want to risk it? The material costs alone are a substantial investment. The wow factor can be a real pain in the backside too, I mean if everyone keeps opening up your car just to get a sneak peek at the fancy damper finding time to dial in new additions like a 2.4MHz receiver and programmable ESC can be difficult.

I feel that the best RM damper is the Kyosho.
The 3Racing damper is pretty good as well.
I never really liked the Atomic RM one, and I ended up using the discs and post on a 94mm MM damper plate setup. I think that the damper was too close to the pivot point, so it was inefficient, and I had to use very hard springs to get it to feel even decent. On a small track it worked well, but on a large track, I was all over the place. The 3Racing damper is better, however I would suggest a top shock with it.
If you are using a modified motormount, you can try using the stock damper mount that attaches to the motormount to attach the post to. This should line up to the 94mm position for the ML damper. If you only have the single position PN damper, then you can use the 90mm RM damper mount that attaches to the chassis. You may have to modify the bottom of the mount to adjust the height of the post to the damper plate.
This was the method that I used with the 1/24 scale car that I made with the CP Cup Car 2 kit http://www2.mini-zracer.com/albums/a...ModCar_014.jpg I used a combination of a PN MM motormount, 102mm Atomic damper plate, Kyosho damper post and discs. To mount the damper mount, I used Atomic 10mm screws and wheel nuts.

The pivot point is generally where a hinge movement originates or pivots. Although a little different for the Mini-Z, since it does not truly have a pivot point with the T-plates. I was referring to the T-plate, since that is where the movement for a given change in rotation of the motormount has the least movement.
The Atomic RM damper is mounted very low, cloase to the T-plate. So there is less dampening for a given degree of movement. If you raise the damper on the same location, it will have more of an effect since the damper post/discs will have to travel a longer distance in the damper plate.

How are side dampers compared to a DPS?
