Mr01, my first Kyosho Mini-Z from Portugal! Ra22 on the end!

Got this Kyosho Mini-Z Mr01 second hand on my own country!

This came to my hand's with a body to forget it! Extremelly used and cuted everywhere!! But that is a good thing... buy another

Came with reversed steering... it was a pain in the a** to make it right... but i managed...

What i noticed... only 2WD... i hope i not regreetit!!

(found out later that miniz's are 2wd, and if want awd need to buy the awd chassis) So dumb, i feel now... but hey, we all were baby's once... no one borns teached!

So the pictures of the: Mini-Z Mr01

-It came with no aerial!!

-I got to see what's inside...

-Diff off and ball bearings on the cleaning process....

-Seeing what pcb it got.... maybe some more fets... hope to solve the back spin, first!

-After the bath, i lube the diff....

-Ball bearings with bearings oil!!

-Motor it got... a Pn Racing 05!! No ball bearing can...

-I got the see the comm and the brushess.... like new!

-The servo... checking if was all good...

-I got to understand why the steering is reversed... swap the fets wires... no good... swap the servo motor wires... no good

-The problem was in the pot wires...

-And now with has the right steering!

-All the cabling now work just like it should!

-The last owner had glued the front springs.... and glue come to the hole where the springs sit... i removed some of the glue for the springs sit propely!

-This is the pot i used for my steering come straight.... even with the radio trimed all the other way... it stuck like that.... :dh)

-The eaten body!!

-From front it seens somekind of new...

Just like "boobs", 2 in the hand is better than one

ok, enough beard talk, photos time:

-The Mr01... and my orion cells and my KT5 radio!

-I puted a shim on the space i saw the diff goes to right/left......

-Stays like that!!.

I guess (only guess) it helped a little, just a little! But no... it's maybe 2% better of back spin....

I will try some diferent aproach, now...

-Super wide tires...for the rear!

-Super wide rims for the rear!

-Good looking!

-Back view!....

(these seen like a kid trying new things, but with trial and error we get the bussiness going on a near future!)

nice you got everything working...
if you had the older controller (kt-2)... you wouldn't have gone as far as re soldering the pot... since it has a throttle and steering reverse switch on top...

those are really nice rims... but i'm afraid that the lancer evo body will only take standard narrow 0 offset rims...

so i guess it's time for a new body...

do you live near a track? maybe some guys can help you out...

And... more 2% of less back spin... i guess.. maybe my mind wants that!!

PSlater i found out that those Mini-z's are only for track, otherwise without grip surfaces even with super grip tires the back spins out everywhere) ehehe, home track it is

TIME for Hop ups...

-And puted grease on the balls... very good!

Time to make this mr01 into something special ....

-Sneak peak!

-Ra22 board from mr03 with 4 fets "4562", this board got the slot for gyro!!

-The AM board now goes to a project i am working on it! (xmod)

-First thing to do is remove is the power eater, the on/off button!

-Since this board comes with a brushless servo motor and i have to hack the servo case, i decided to put a "brushed" servo motor instead, since the servo case has got the right holes for the "brushed"

-The ra22 already on the mr01 chassis...

And more videos of the mr01 ra22 PCB

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TwhYJGatBaA

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8d7fsALkKDQ

since i got no body for it, yet... i will give the used one a shot...

-Now that i have a home track i can't play this without a body. (Fear of broken parts) So i grab the one i got for now... use araldite glue for my removed front bumper and rear bumper, and applyed glass fiber. Now the bumpers hold!!

I dont' know if i am going to paint this, because i like the looks for now
Aerodinamics with the body on the track are good! Miniz's needs a body to race, lol!

Now i have a body to race in my home track without having to horry about screwing the chassis! :tough:

Ps: this is my home track, updated!

And some weeks later:

nice updates...
one thing though... being an mr01... you might want to swap out the plastic servo gears for metal ones...

the tire/rim combo sticking out of the body with the bigger wheel wells, kinda seem like a recipe for busted servo gears...
