Iwaver alloy+carbon fiber chassis

Hello. Iwaver has been making some good aluminum parts lately. Check out my red alloy'd AWD Mini-Z chassis under gallery, chassis section. All parts except body plate from Iwaver. Body plate made from GPM. Iwaver also has alloy parts for their 02 and new 02M chassis as well as a carbon fiber chassis plate and upper suspension mount for the chassis. I'm thinking of making an a blue anodyzed aluminum chassis plate in stock mode, and a longer version for custom bodies, and possibly, a shorter version for other custom bodies. Will keep you up to date if I make any chassis for it. I love my 02 chassis and looking forward to the new 02M.

Honestly, I haven't been impressed with iWaver's alloy quality. The finish is pretty awful and some of the holes weren't straight in the batch of parts that I purchased. Fortunately, unlike their electronics, they can be made to work.

edit: when I say "finish", I mean the edges of the parts, etc. I actually really like the bronze/grey colored anodizing that they do. I just wish it really was hard anodization.

I've had no problems with my Iwaver alloy. I like their 02 parts and looking forward to the 02M. I don't know anything about their carbon fiber as I have not found one yet. Hopefully Toy east will have theme as soon as the 02M comes out. They told me they will supply us with the alloy and carbon fiber upgrades for the 02M when it's available. I'm hoping to get a black Mini Cooper to match my new 1/32 scale Mini Cooper that I have for my CRT.

It depends on your basis of comparison. If you are comparing it to GPM, TopCad, Eagle, etc, the iWaver stuff looks to be right on par, sometimes even better. If you are comparing it to Atomic, Kyosho, PN, not to mention some of the high-end larger-scale stuff, it just doesn't hold up to the same standards. The sad thing is that most of this stuff is made in the same factories, just subcontracted out to different tolerances and QC levels based on how much the brand name is willing to spend.

I agree Iwaver's alloy is not as good as GPM's, but it's still good for the price. I'm happy with my parts. I just wish they offered more color options for their alloy instead of just red, blue, and gun metal. I still need to find some alloy battery clips for my 02 chassis. If you have a look a my photos I posted in the chassis gallery, you'll see my alloy'd Iwaver 02 with the Murcielago body. Great car for an affordable price. Please see photos here.
