Hank and I talked about the using the HFAY stock motor after I drove his car with the motor in it. The HFAY stock motor seams to be much more powerful than the original stock. The car was a handful. If you didn't feather the throttle going down the straight, the car could easily get sideways. I think the motor is more powerful than my Atomic Stock motor that I run in open.
We both agreed that for the average driver (and even the not so avg driver), the motor would be too much for stock class. In my opinion, running that motor in stock class would eliminate the need for an open class. Why have 2 classes when there would be virtually no speed difference (or more importantly lap time difference). I don't think that on a track the size or ours there would be a need for more motor than the HFAY motor even in our open class, so why allow it in stock???
We are both in favor of keeping stock class with the original stock motor specs. If a driver wants to use the new motor, run it in open... and on our track, I don't believe you'll find anybody (who is winning that is) using anything much more powerful than that motor.
I personally would rather drive something a bit more tame in stock class and focus on driving instead of avoiding walls and spinning out.
So we are leaning towards keeping stock class with the stock motor.
Thoughts?

I agree also based on your testing results. It might make a good practice motor at home. My current at home motor is a kyosho stock in a PN BB can and it has just a hair more punch out of the corner with little maintence needed.
