MR-03 VE Question

Hi - just got my MR 03! - I noticed the new wires coming out of the board somewhat interfere with the top shock movement.

Do I need to un clip the tiny zip tie to loosen the wires ? Seems cramed back there!

i will add a warning to be careful with the wires. they are fragile. my mr-03 ve PCB came new in the box with wires snapped off the board. easy fix but still clear indication these connections are fragile. others have reported similar experiences as well.

Yes, wires are fragile. I had one of the wires to the board pop off from regular running. Top shock rubbing on the wires. The wires pulled out of the "bullet" connector as it was still remaining in the board.

Also, by accident, I had snapped the body on to the chassis catching the wires. That pulled 2 of the 3 wires out of their connector.

Got my second VE the other day, one of the motor wires was disconnected from the chassis before removing it from the box. I did notice though that the wire itself had not broken. The solder connection was poor and not holding the wire at all. I decided to re-do all of the wires and changed them to laying flat and exiting towards the rear of the car, no problems clearing the damper system and a MM motor mount now. When I did resolder the wires I was able to tell that the VE board is very well designed, there is a lot of copper on the board to handle any possible heat from the fets. This makes it much tougher to solder the wires on and probably explains why so many people have the wires fall off - the people assembling them are not used to a PC board that can soak up so much heat so quickly.

oh, and the wire Kyosho is using totally sucks, I've ordered some nice silicone stuff to replace as much of the wire as possible. Its very very easy to introduce tweak with the stock wires.

I re-soldered my wires comming off board the same way....much better. I shortened the wires alot and got rid of conecters on the wires.

One of the guys I race with had a motor wire break from the endbell of the motor. We both tried contacting Kyosho USA asking what we could do to repair it, but I guess they're too busy to respond Anyway, have any of you guys figured out how to pop the endbell off for repairs?

Here is a picture of my updated wiring, the connections face the back of the car instead of going straight up.

MR03 VE Settings, old ICS Cable & module?

Hi guys,
Anybody knows if it's possible to use the old ICS cable and setting module (Eurus, Helios) that was devised for the old MR03 with the new VE??

Many thanks in advance!
Rgs,
Pablo
