do you guys have problems with burning out your kyosho stock motor with a 9t?
i remember doing this the last time i was running kyosho stock and somebody had mentioned that it was a capacitor issue? do i need to mod the motor (remove cap) and it wont burn out anymore? brushless still not legal (??) in kyosho stock?
ps i found my parts, mother in law had it

i don't believe it to be extremely common however i've also fried a large majority of my stock fet cars in some way or another. it's a simple fix for the most part, fets are only $1-2 each and we have skilled members who can do it at the shop.
brushless are not allowed in our club stock class. goes back to an old saying, just because you can buy it in a box, doesn't make it stock. i'm sure Kyosho will at some point transition to brushless for everything but until that happens, brushed is the stock standard. we have plenty of other classes that permit brushless (86-90mm, Mod and HFAY).

When stock was stock the caps didn't exist. I don't think any of us have the cap on.
The stock motors are bushed. They need cleaning and oil I between heavy use.

Despite the smaller crowd today, about 6,we all had a great time! Austin really rise to the challenge today putting in a good show on a challenging track.
Hope to have demonstration car or two moving forward as well.
Had a new driver today as well, Andy brought out his awd and did well for jumping right in with the rest of us.
Thank you to those who could make it for making it a fun day. I'll try to get the videos up asap.

Great day as usual. Good to see a new racer. I should have run the AMR but didn't have a charger. Jeremy from Hobbyworks got me setup. Big Thanks to Dwight as well for giving the lipo Batts a charge.

sharing picture of DIY paint stand made from wire hanger. you can cut the bottom off a water bottle for a paint tray for floor polish clear coat as well.

Funny you should ask. Bill and I both pulled more laps in our stock class cars than our modded 90mm and open class cars. We had much faster fast laps though it didn't amount to a higher overall lap count.
It was a great day of racing as usual. Thanks again Ray.
