Atomic Stock R and Kyosho Alu Motor Holder

Please help! Thanks in advance

1. I brought an Atomic Stock R Motor and and found that the front end is bigger than X-speed motor one & can't be fixed into the Kyosho Alu Motor Holder. Am I need to buy Atomic Alu Motor Holder (AWD010) to resolve this? Is PN one (MA0112) also ok? I thought that it's due to Atomic motors has bigger front end, am I correct?

2. I brought PN Pro Motor Heat Sink (MA0129), with bottom cover one, is that it cannot be used together with Atomic Stock R Motor since I found that the motor shell is bigger. I really love Atomic Stock R Motor and PN Pro Motor Heat Sink, am I need to give up either of them (in addition I have to buy a new motor holder as mentioned above)?

AFMiniz,

1) IIRC, there are two types of motor cases for Atm, and the 'thick' type is the one with a thicker shell(which I think is the cause for your unfitting). I myself has modded a Alm holder(from Atm) and try to make it a better fit. Basically just simply sanding it to a larger diameter to fit.

2) It is true that those two don't fit too well together, and usually people will cut off a few bars to clear the small capacitor board to make it a better fit, if using PN pro heatsink or 3 racing ones. If you don't want to do the cutting, the latest two atm aluminium heatsink or Kyosho motor heatsink(both are all open type) should fit pretty well.

Good luck with your AWD!

Dont use the Stock-R on the stock fets. Even on the lowest gear ratio, it will not last long before they fry.

Thanks Aurora. Quite surprise to hear even ATM owns motor holder needs to be modified to fit its own "thick" motor case. Do you know is that all Stock R is coming with "thick" motor case (or I was so unluckily to pick one!)

Thanks EMU. I've brought a 2.4 board which uses the same Fet as AD board, do you think it can support Stock R? The gearing ratio I intend to use is 5.34:1 (19T vs 29T).

The 2.4 should handle it fine. It has twice the amount of fets compared to the stock AWD.
