September 13th

Race day scheduled for Sept 13th. We may end up doing the weekend after that as well if possible as I need to leave town on the weekend of the 26th. I would like to get two days in that month. Nate, Brandon, weigh in on that. We had a lot of people come back and express interest in coming out. We have a drift specialist coming in on the 13th as well. He and his fiancee previewed some of our cars. Over all very productive day. I had my first HFAY experience. Not too bad of a showing. I was 5-8 laps behind Nate. I miss my MR-02. So yeah, we are on for the 13th.

Whats up man , met you Today [ 30th Aug ]. My Girl and I were there speaking with you about the Mini-Z's and you let us try them out. Wanted to say thanks again! You did not hesitate to get us some info man and it was much appreciated. Between you and me I'm still gonna get her one as well , even if she doesnt like it lol.

By the way i located some drift tires that I personally use [ 1/10 scale size ] on my own drift rig. Made of ABS which is cheap and lasts a very long time. The same concept applies for the Mini-Z when breaking them in. run them on smooth concrete until you have built up scuffs on them. Then go to town on your track. when i purchase them for my mini-z which i will be picking up within the month i will give you a full detailed breakdown on them. we can test them personally if you like on one of the Saturday meets.

http://www.***************/Products/...es__14080.aspx

Depending on entry speed and the corners of your track as well as skill ; tires can be adjusted accordingly. when learning abs is probably the best bet then you can move onto hard rubber etc. Breaking loose with abs is easy , sometimes so easy you think you have to much over steer. spring rates come into play as well as camber depending on how easy you want to break loose. i'll help you when i come to HT on Saturday. Personally a hard set up in the rear and soft in the front is preferred but we will of course test it all out. 1/28 weight and 1/10 is differant as well as weight shift etc.

see you on the forums and every other saturday man , be safe.

Nice to meet you Tac, it'll be great having another racer. And 'Mex will probably appreciate another girl so she doesn't have to deal with us guys alone :P

Mike did you schedule with Sean?

I guess I missed the weekend where someone new shows up huh? I will definitely be there the 13th. If anyone wants parts or tires or anything hit me up I'm placing an order this week. I'm sure Mex would be happy to hear of another girl potentially racing (Congrats on your racing last week in hfay btw).

Looks like the new guy likes drifting.. sounds like a good excuse to buy a second ma-010 lol. I'm in man show me what you know on the 13th. I've never drifted my MA-010. Are you in to real cars man? I own an eagle talon Tsi AWD.... not so good for drifting though unless it snows.

heh whats up guys and thanks again for the welcome. as for drifting? i love it more then a good old race man. something about hitting full speed , cutting the wheel and controlling it that just appeals to me more so then winning a race. of course theres more to it then just that but you get me. as for the 010 chassis it is the best drift chassis in the mini-z line simply because it's 4WD. Proper tire compound will be the only issue for the track that you use [ and hopefully i will be using =) by the 13th ]. we will check it out though. once we get that figured out then we will get into the suspension aspect which is very important and I will say it one more time VERY important.

as for full size drifting , I love to watch it but for now I'm limited on funds for a 1:1 drift pig. I'm in the process of buying a house and at 24 years old man it is not easy lol. The fiance wants to race as well but getting her into the mini-z's is becoming harder then i thought. we will see though , always a way lol.

Buying a house these days can be quite difficult. The prices are finally coming down, but the mortgage companies aren't very cooperative. Neither are the insurance companies if you live in a flood zone.

I bought a house when I was 21, and I'm seriously glad I did. Even though there was some head & heart aches involved, when we sold it a few months ago we made $30k off it and paid off all of our debts with money to spare. I was looking forward to rolling that money into another property, but I guess she had other ideas.

Do you have a real estate agent? I know one if you don't. Here are some tools that might help you plan.

Amortization Calculator Find out what paying $100 extra a month can do to your bottom line.

You can also estimate your interest rate based on your FICO score, if you know it. This is really important stuff. Pay your bills, kids!

Budget to spend a certain amount of money repairing the house every year, and routinely look for stuff to fix, it will need it and if you let that stuff slide it'll be a lot worse.

Good luck!

Yeah , she thinks buying a house is easy. she has yet to realize that a house is much differant than a condo. we live in a condo right now and i love it. No lawn to be cut , no association fees or taxes during the year. no painting the siding or sweeping up the left over lawn trimmings. i can live in a condo forever lol. I'm trying to convince her we should wait another 5 years. no intentions on having kids [ we are both to selfish , and i freely admit mine lol] we will see though , women have the power a lot of the time. Plus i like spending my money on stuff i like instead of say a water heater or a new ceiling fan and she likes to do the same. makes no sense to me to own a house right now.

OH hey i'm trying to get rid of one of my Gaming rigs. I used to run my own online business building Gaming/Cad computers for people and i shut it down recently and have one of my personal Gaming PC's up for sale if anyone is interested. Honestly i'll take a MA-010 RTR and like 200 bucks on top for it. If anyone is interested let me know and i'll post the specs.

My girlfriend races, she is 22, though, it wasn't very hard to convince her. She got me into playing halo 3, so you can tell what kind of girl I'm dealing with here. She should come up on the 13th when Maya is racing. Maybe they will get along ya know?

Mexico was ahem interesting.
I was going on a 4 day cruise that got turned into a 6 day cruise due to hurricane gustav blocking the return port in the gulf of mexico. Wild boat man, I got hit on my several middle aged girls.... you up for a cruise nate? lol.

Tactical, I don't game much on computers to be honest. I will probably get heat for this but I think consoles are better personally. They really make some of my favorite games more mainstream. More competition is more fun. I heard WoW is competitive but I don't like RPGs.

Tac, bear in mind that for middle class america, most of your wealth is in the equity of your home. This is a big picture thing where you give up some luxuries now for a lot of security later in life. Condo is nice, and I couldn't agree more about not having to worry about maintenance, but buying a house is a wise decision. Depending on your finances though, you could be well served by a few years of improving your credit rating or saving up for a larger down payment. Prices are low now though, so keep on your toes.

I've spoken to a few of my buddies , my ma and pops and shes done the same about buying a house. our credit isnt to bad but i'd like a few years yah know? I had a repo like two years ago , lost my job but then got my business going and paid it off after a month but it will show on my credit for awhile so i figure screw it and wait. I figure my 401k will do me well , considering i started it when i was 20 and the age you NEED to start one by on average is 25 depending on income and how much you pour into it. I'll be solid when i retire , if i retire. I hate to be bored man , hate it with a passion. Suicide is better than boredom , j/k j/k

much thanks for the advice as well , now it's up to deciding if we want this town house with a 8k dp or this house out near shore drive [ which has a 2 car garage behind it ] some foreclosures have a no credit check no down payment clause. it's like a title change over i guess. i'll have to look more into it.

Heh halo 3? my sister got me into that game. i still have my tag but i don't play to often. Major Gr2 sadly but i'm decent lol if you wanna play let me know im down for a few games. As for the computer , hell if anyone wants just let me know we will work something out. gaming on a pc is totally differant than a console. precise control over the feeling of precise control is two diff things , so says my 2000dpi razer copperhead mouse =) If you think i'm messing around play enemy territory quake wars on the 360 then play it on the pc , you will know.

[ yes i jump topics heavily , i type 120 wpm ]

I prefer the joysticks because they are harder to be accurate with. Imagine halo with a serious mouse like that. Headshots would be almost too easy. I prefer a harsher learning curve, but your absolutely right about the control comparison.
