I don't participate in HFAY yet, although our club might join some time soon. Anyways, I think that this new motor will definately swing to the MA-010's advantage, finally making it a level field in stock class. Personally, a couple of local guys and I who have an MA-010 found it way off pace of an MR-02 in stock class.
I'm sure some of the best drivers can still compete with the MR-02, but you'll probably see more MA-010's at the top of the standings than previous seasons.

This is a debate that's surely not to end anytime soon but I have to disagree that the MA-010 is way off pace of an MR-02 in stock class. I've been running an MA-010 from the beginning and it's VERY competitive. It is not 100% as fast as an MR-02 but it's about 98% as fast and the added stability and cornering abilities make it super easy to drive. I agree that the new motor will play to the MA-010's advantage and I too expect to see more drivers make the switch. Still, I think even with stock motors the MA-010 is capable of the same number of laps as an MR-02. When the HFAY results are posted for this month in a few days you'll see that the MA-010s took the top 2 positions in our club. Granted, we're not near the top of the point standings, but we're relative newbies who don't have nearly the experience or get nearly as much practice as the top clubs do.

As a note for those of you from our club who preordered the Spec motor from me for next season. They are supposed to ship soon. I plan on breaking these motors in using the slave motor method. If you do not want me to break your motor in as you would rather do it yourself please let me know.
