Ridealot,

Expect trouble free performance from that motor. Quality is on par with the Kyosho X speed. No Fets needed. Top end is noticeable higher than the X speed. I can't say anything about the company but overall the motors have been great. I race with the S01 and S03.

i have the speedy as well and it actually performs better than my s01

there have been accounts of fried fets using this motor, the same can be said of the x-speed as well. just so you know, it's possible.

hey arch2b

i am gonna be using a gpm alloy gear 10 34 tooth and that motor.

how big is the chances of burning fets and how much money does a new fet cost and how do you install more or better ones

o and is the gpm alloy gear high quality or is it cheaply made?

thanks

i have 3 of the derlin/alloy main gears and they are all very nice.

90% of the time fets are fried., it's user error you can fry fets with a stock motor if your talented enough all it takes it putting the motor under extreme loads such as pushing heavy object, gunning it when the tires will not spin etc. use it resposibly and you should be fine.

should you fry the fets, it's about $20-30 for a 2x2/3 stack depending where you go.

Hmmmm, i just got one of these on monday and the performance was disappointing. the speed is not too great. barely faster then stock. the torque increase was noticable thought. the noise increase was also noticable i now run this motor with a 11t pinion and it seens to be very slow. or am i just expecting too much from it?

it may be a lemon there is always a difference in quality from motor to motor. that's why i was surprised my speedy was much better than my s01.

some have stock that are faster than x-speeds... or so they claim

i wouldn't know any sooner than you try emailing mini-z. i think alot of shops are out of gpm parts...seems they stock about the same time so they run out about the same time

i also got a pn speedy
the speed want as fast as i thought it would be as dougboy said, but torque is a lot better than stock - but i might be expecting way too much since im used to my miniz
i also put my speedy in a bbcan...

one thing though, how do you do FETs on a overland, i dont see much room under the stock FETs...
i was planning on stacking FETs when i first got my can and to use an atomic but encountered this problem

so does 2x2 FETs require chassis modification?
