Battery Prep for the WinterNats

Need help on how and when to charge batteries for the upcoming WinterNationals at Action RC2 in New York.

I got the car setups and what to clean and rebuild the day of the race or the night before. I need help on how to get the best performance from my batteries.

I usually charge all my batteries before practice days, run them and recharge them at the end of the day. The ones I dont use just set it in the box charged until I peak them a couple of hours ahead of the next week race. Is there any tricks like discharging them a couple of days before the race and then charge them the night before and peak them before hitting the qualifiers. I usually charge them at 1C and discharge at 1000ma. I only have the MAHA charger. I got Atomic 900s, Peak 900s, R1 750 & 990 and some new TRP 747s.

Looking for some advice, I think I have gotten better driving and with setups and want to make a decent showing at this race.

My personal opinion, don't screw with the car. If you want to change chassis or any other big change to the car, do it in advance so you can have a "shakewdown" run before the race and make sure everything is in top condition.

As for the batteries just do a couple of cicles the day before the race, and do as JuniorWKR said. Ideally you want to run the same batteries 2 or 3 times, but with enough time to let them rest after used and before recharging. Generally the second run is better then the first run, so use the best batt's first like practice, so they can rest before you recharge them for the first qualif rounds, and further rest before charging for the finals
