ub0211042,
I would like to know who has you asked about this?
I know currently we do not have this solution in stock, but I would have to reflect to the factory for this.

Hi Fangel,
I asked May about this on Sept 11 2007, I was told that u guys had asked about this before but no success, but i am not in any way upset about the fact that ur guys can't get it. I do understand that it is on the factory side.
Btw, send my regards to Karen.

I would suggest that we could propose all your suggestion through me, since I'm currently working on the product development as well as design. All your input will help improve future models.

Hmmm, righty guys, interesting thread, like the idea of running a clear shell, i often begrudge putting a shell on my cars, especially my HFAY car, that thing has more alloy than Kyosho..lol always seems a shame to cover it.

Well, if your wanting to clear up a shell the easiest way to do it is going to be the hard way get stuck in with emmery cloth and when all the paint is gone, use T-cut, (not sure what they would call it in the USA) but that stuff is great at cleaning up shells, especially when you have traded paint with a few people and have all the colours of the rainbow up side of your car!
All you have to be careful of is not using it too much, as it is a superfine abbrasive, so it does rub away a minor amount of paintwork, you never know, rub it enough and it may strip the shell back to bare plastic. If i had one i'd try it for you.
WARNING
T-cut can and WILL remove paint, in fine layers, becareful when using on your fav shells.

hum...very interesting.
I'm guessing it basically kinda like a very fine sand paper and you rub the paint off little by little. With a fine hand, this might be the easiest way, but it might take a lot of long night and you can't be watching TV while doing it, since I guess you would have to focus on it.

I use Castro Superclean Degreaser (comes in the purple container) to strip paint off of bodies. It doesn't work very well on autoscales (nothing works on autoscales) but it works very well on Tamiya paints.

just fill up a container with the stuff and let the body soak for a few days.

more and more method to remove paint, I know the reasons with autoscales should be because of the thick clear coat on the body. Tamiya paint is kind of designed to be strips, you could just use liquid thinner to remove most of the paint even if it is quite old.

I have an Enzo iWaver shell, i might try it with that!
The emmery cloth is like a really fine sandpaper, backed on cloth, but T-Cut is a liquid polish, kinda yellowish in colour and aparently has ground down fish bones in it, making it extremely fine, to such a degree i use it to get rid of minor scratches on my REAL car aswell as my autoscales and iWavers...
I'll post up results of using emmery cloth and T-Cut when i get chance to try it...
Watch this space!

But for sure brake fluid will not mess with a Kyosho whitebody? That would be just what I need!

No one has actually said anything about successfully stripping the paint on autoscaler bodies, the brake fluid idea is for Firelap/iwaver body, but the little project above just went wrong. Please stripe paint at your own risk.

I'm looking forward to results from Neomax.

Righty then lads, i've started!
The T-cut does work but is VERY slow, however it does maintain clarity of the plastic, but as i am impatient, i am using emmery cloth (wet and dry sandpaper you may know it as) and that is working very well in a bowl of water, i'm doing it on an Enzo and its not the best shell for it as there are a lot of REALLY fiddly bits that i am having to do with a knife. The plastic is fogging slightly as obviously the emmery cloth is roughing it up, but i will use the T-cut again when all the paint is off, and i am very sure it will bring back the clarity, i'll keep you posted.
Current working time: about 2 hours.
ETF: about another 30 mins stripping + another hour maybe of polishing with T-cut, maybe less.

Well here it is lads, i reckon you will be as pleased with the results as i am, better than i thought and.... it can get better, with more T-cut it could get about 30% better than it is now, as with close inspection you can still see minor scratches. I also need to get it on a chassis worth looking at, as this is near as damn it a stock iWaver.

The start:

This is with the paint sanded off with 800 grade emmery cloth (wet n Dry sand paper, medium fine)

This is after a rub down with 1500 grade emmery cloth (Wet n Dry sand paper, super fine)

This is after T-cut was applied, you will notice this makes a MASSIVE difference!

And this is after a hard wax polish is applied. Normal light photo and flash light photo.

Pictures on Chassis.

Well it took about 4 hours in total, it would have been quicker (considerably) if i'd chosen an easier shell to do, the Enzo has waayyy too many nooks and crannys where the emmery cloth struggles to get, getting the majority sanded off took about 20 mins, the rest was all the akward bits!...lol
What ya reckon guys?

Neo..

Search this item number on the bay . co . uk

120228890609

This is the exact one i used.
I tried on the bay . com and couldn't find it, you may have to get it from uk, try looking up what it is made of and see what you can get where you live.
There will be something similar, as all T-cut really is, is a colour restorer/scratch remover.
