Murcielago GTR
Well I finally finished it. I got the Ultimate Mini-Z Racer now equiped with my home brewed rear wing....it was a one off the mold. Everything still within PNRacing Rules too......I'm not sure yet how effective it will be......of course it's bitch'n!!!
Murcielago GTR Racing........I love it.

Sounds good, maybe at HobbyTown in Freemont, we could throw down a few.....laps that is.....
The wing did come out just a tad too tall by 2mm's. I could've easily cut down the posts, but wanted to try the suspension limiters, so I installed the longest ones that come with the cars....it's now 2mm under. This was vacuum formed with the new .030 clear. I have a source for some colored plastic as well, but wanted to see how strong the new wing was going to be before I ordered it. Height, width and lenght seem to be spot on for now. I didn't want to get too "out of scale" either, but wanted a wing that had some function if any.....it's really strong too.

The week days are going to be tough to make.......it's a four hour easy drive up there. That's cutting it a little close.....
Thanks!!!
The wheels are a special TaGu Order made especially for the Murcielago. They don't list them on their site, you have to contact them personally. As far as I know I'm the only one to get the first sets....... http://www.geocities.jp/wild_zracing/
I will look forward to your email........I did send you one through here.......

Those are special, they call them double narrows. Now if I disclose all my secrets, how am I going to.......
The spec's.......
TaGu Rears......-1.5 offset 17mm wide Atomic 10 Degree Tires 5 Groove.
Tagu Fronts.....-.5 offset 11mm wide Atomic 20 Degree Tires 3 Groove.
I made the Rears by cutting up two 11mm Atomic Wides, one to the inside the other to the outside of the third groove......this left the perfect groove and the perfect width......it has increadible traction...

I understand. I lived in Monterey and would drive all the way up to chinatown to race but only during the weekend.
edit: I have a set of those wheels but in the enzo offset. The car has some very good grip at high speeds. I do remember reading about tagu making a special offset for the murcielago

thos are tagu's 1:24 kit wheels correct? they are not listed i believe in the mini-z section. i'm very surprised that a double wide rear wheel will even fit under a body

NO.........they are another TaGu special wheel made just for the Murcielago. There's a little sanding of the wheel wells, within the PNRacing Rules......I setup for only about a 1mm travel anyway......so it's not rubbing or contacting the body. I've had to open up the front wheel wells, and a little on the rears for suspension, but have not had any contact with tire to body....
Thanks Arch2B........your inputs mean alot....
With my setup, they are about .010 too wide in the rear. I'll have to sand and polish before I enter a Championship Race......but .010.......who cares??? They are just awesome, and I'm going to put a hurt on those Big Boys.....and their Enzo's...

arch, i was just on the TAGU site today, and the 1:24 kits are listed, also each component available seperately, i like their wheels, but they are too expensive for me, im gonna try and save up for a Nitro Truck soon tho, several of the guys at our race club are interested in getting a 1:10 Monster truck thing going, pHREDD recently started the trend when he went out and bought the very truck that a couple of us were already drooling over

Hit me up, and Roger and I can meet you at Hobbytown. I'm about 20 min away and Roger is down the street from HT. On a regular night there's up to 6-8 drivers. Most of us are in 10th scale mode, but still Mini Z to get track time during the week. I will email you my contact information.

I got my Hobby Etc. order in today, I ordered two different sets of GPM Radials.....the AVS grove and the Daytona grove. In 8 degree for the rears, 10 degree for the fronts. Plus a set of 15 degree slicks wide for the front........I've set the car up with the AVS tread 8 degree double narrows in the rear and the slicks in front........I'm excited about testing them....my heart was in the Atomics.......this I feel is going to change.....
I broke a Atomic .5 camber knuckle today......so I had to fiddle around for shims and such to install the 1 degree camber knuckles....the stock ones just don't have enough axle for the lock nuts.....I mean six hours of racing and one part failure is pretty good.........but I'm going to have to upgrade those knuckles......I'll know what to get after tire testing.......
I traded alot of paint with my buddies C5R Vette today as well.........not even a close match......the Murcielago GTR.......just stomped it......
