I received a second mr01 as a gift, I have had one for a few years. I've gone through everything I got but can't find out what size rear rims and tires are on it? The rear tires/rims just look wider (11mm?)...It's the Ferrari f-40. Is everything else the same (except for the rear tires) as my 2 year old mr01? What size rear tire now?
What bodies should fit this set up?
When I try to put on a different body like the Dodge Viper I expected of course the rear wheels to rub somewhere, but it was the front tires rubbing the body when turning. They look centered in the front wheel cut out and only rub when turning. I changed out the white front plastic body mount(why are the front tires affected?).
They both seem to be the same Med wheelbase size or am I wrong? Or do I need to take the rear wide rims and tires off and put stock on each time I do a body change?? sigh.
The F40 has the widest track of any MR-01 body. Therefore it has the biggest off-set wheels. These wheels are too wide for most MR-01 bodies.
You will have to change the body plate and wheels when using a different body.
Different bodies have different widths, that's why Kyosho makes different off-set wheels to match any given body. (0mm, 1.0mm, 2.5mm and so on)

- Okay so the front wheels are ALSO offset (in how far they stick out) but take a standard with tire?
- So what size tire do I order for the rear? (F-40) Is this wheel offset and also wide?
- So the chasis is exactly the same as my older mr01?

Thanks in advance,

Most use a narrow(8.5mm) tire in front and a wide(11mm) tire in the rear with different off-sets for different bodies.
The F40 uses a wide 11mm tire in the rear. Like many Mini-Z's. It's wide and off-set.
Chassis is the same, body and wheels are different.

Thanks so much Shaun. I had no idea the front wheels had different offsets as small as 1mm increments just to fit different bodies. I have other bodies for my first mr01 and they all went on with just a simple body plate change (all were med wheel base by sheer luck)...thought I only had to swap out the wheels if I wanted it to look right. You have saved me hours of trial and error! Thanks.
