copy/paste... some tips...
haven't heard from tango in a long time though... but i do remember being a backmarker to his car on several occasions...
-Before races
-Start practice sessions 2 weeks in advance the race to find the settings with fine tune, traction of the course, racing lines.
-While practice session, use a control setting that you used for most tracks, then, modify that bit by bit to fit the track completely.
-Clean all bearings on the car after practice by using WD40 or some kind of petroleum. Bathe them overnight to ensure dirt inside had been removed.
-Check tire. If found the tire is running out, better get new tires & run them until the new set have similar characteristics with the current set.
-Use the most powerful motor on practice sessions.
-After practice, have some simple motor maintenance job. (Use motor cleaners to clean the comm, add bearing lub on motor bushings/bearings)
-Separate Racing cells & practice cells.
-Cycle the race cells at least 3 days before the race in order to activate the cell for maximized performance.
-The day before race, avoid set the car or make any change over the car, especially DON'T add any kingpin grease or ball diff grease.
-Charge 1-2 packs practice cell for final testing on the race day.
-While practice, find a suitable place for installation of the sensor, also weld the sensor power plug.
-After each practice session, check all screws, locknuts & any broken parts.
On the race day-
-Go to the raceway earlier for preparation.
-Unpack all stuff and start to charge your cells.
-Go to Control Panel, check the Heat schedule, Whole day run-down & register your frequency for testing purpose.
-After final test run, decide to use which motor for the races.
-10 mins before the heat session you need to participate, peak your batteries (Note: some brands can't be peaked), and discharge the 2nd pack for next round.
-After the heat sessions, except those routine job of return sensor, take your packs out of the discharger, then ready to be mechanic on the round after your group.
-When finished to be mechanic, rush back to your position & charge our cells as well as prepare the next round.
-Check any loosen screws, locknuts or broken parts need replacement.
