at first, i was planning to a mini-z, but i was looking around and saw the micro rs4 being mentioned a few times.
at a site i looked at (i wont mention it, as i dont think im allowed) i saw the mini-z selling for £120 and the micro for £99.
so, which is the better value for money? i'm not planning to buy alot of hopups at the moment, and i will be running it stock for quite a while, so which is the faster?. which one is more popular? so i might find some ppl with the same rc as me.
Where do you plan on using it? If you're going to be inside, the Z is the way to go. It handles really well on carpet and can be made to handle floors with simple soft tires or foam ones. It also handle smooth concrete really well.
The Micro RS4 can run inside also, but since it is bigger, it isn't as much fun inside. It handles the street really well, which a Z can't do unless you sweep all the little rocks out of the way.
It really depends also on what you like. There are TONS of hop ups for both cars with a little more on the RS4 side.
I have both and like both.

That price of £107.00 is only for the basic kit.
You will still need:
Transmitter/receiver
Steering Servo
Electronic Speed Controller (ESC)
Batteries or battery pack (Go for the Orion packs, circa £20.00 each)
Charger
Paint (for the bodyshell)
Add all that up and it's in excess of £200 if you go for a full size steering servo, cheap radio/RX, cheap ESC, batteries and cheap(ish) charger.
Spend a little more on better components and it's in excess of £250.
It takes an afternoon to assemble the beast too and it also requires painting.
It also begs for rewiring, as in replacing them crappy HPI and Tamiya plugs with Deans Plug type connectors.
The Mini-Z is RTR or ready to run. Comes with a transmitter and only requires batteries.
It will operate happily with Alkalines, but rechargeable NiMh's are a must.
Mixxy performance wise, the Micro RS4 kicks ass. The Mini-Z doesn't stand a chance, also it's great for running outside.
The Mini-Z's arent too keen on parking lots, they're small and have very little ground clearance. Small stones are like boulders to the Mini-Z. They need a smooth surface to run on.
The Micro RS4 can handle almost any type of road.
As an owner of four Mini-Z's and (only) one Micro RS4, I say go for both!
It's just hard deciding which to buy first
