MRC - mini-z track in taipei, taiwan

if you haven't seen it, i suggest looking at this thread first ----> mini-z in taiwan

MRC track in Taipei...

新北MRC(附設競速車場及甩尾車場)
新北市泰山區 新北大道六段311號 2樓 JRS汽機車美容樓上

Taipei
tel no (07) 8030788 / 0987 575698
(02)29023386 / (02)85318343 / 0913317703
business hours 2:00-10:00 pm

MRC (Mars Racing Club) was more challenging to get to... armed with the information that ilove599xx (a fellow forum member who lives in taipei) gave, I charted out and printed the map to go to MRC... I was ready to go, either by taxi or by subway... it was about a 30 min drive or 30-40min subway ride from out hotel...

but ilove599xx was kind and accommodating enough to pick me up at the hotel and give me a ride to the track in his car... we got to chat during the trip and he mentioned that the MRC track is the biggest in taipei... track info could additionally be found on MRC's fb page (first word rhymes with race, second rhymes with look)

the MRC track was located on the second floor... and upon arriving at around 5pm, ilove599xx introduced me to the track owner., shao ha (and unfortunately he spoke very little english)

unfortunately, Ilove599xx couldn't stay too long... he told me that he had to leave to watch a baseball game... I thanked him very much for the ride, and after a while I was on my own...

so I took pictures...

I couldn't muster the nerve of asking if I could borrow somebody's car to try it out on the track... the track was much bigger than the 7mm track back in taichung... while there were about 3 racers when I arrived.... a couple more drivers started to trickle in as time quickly passed...

I did notice that there was another track apart from the main track... and learned that it was a drift track, when one of the racers used it...

I again picked up a couple of bodies... and quite sadly left... it was a good thing that I brought the hotel address printed on the hotel's calling card with me... and I asked the owner if I could get a taxi from there... the owner, shao ha said he would accompany me downstairs and would get me a taxi...

and after quite a wait, we eventually went back upstairs so he could call a taxi by telephone... he went down with me to catch the taxi to make sure that it was the correct one... eventually the taxi came we thanked each other and bid each other good bye...

hello,

the reason Taiwan uses carpet is because we are influenced by Hong Kong.

that's what I heard, I have never been to Hong Kong though.

They say carpet tracks could have more possibilities to design different turns, angles, length, etc.

I personally hope we could have some RCP track clubs but seems like all the clubs that used RCP are all shut down.

Both are fun for me.

hi ilove599xx... thanks again for taking the time out to bring me to mrc... i hope you like the article... you can show it to track owner shao ha (hope i spelled his name correctly)

yes, i believe that there might be some influence for the carpet track... carpet is more versatile as you can make a lot of design layouts.... and i believe it is much cheaper than rcp...

is there a rcp track in taipei? i think you mentioned that there is one but it is a private one and not opened to the public? also you mentioned a track opening soon that will also have a buggy track... what's the name and address of the track?
