How to choose the first off road RC car?

I am thinking to get one soon,

Is 2 wheel better for the first time? or it does not matter,

I am thinking to get the sand master series.

Will that be a good first off road RC car?

I am a mini-z newbie too and I love mini-z.

But when I take my kid to the park. I don't mind to play one off road RC car on the dirt.

The Sand Master is not going to perform as well as a larger buggy like a Losi SCB or Associated SC10B, but you will get plenty of fun for your investment.

With so many things, keeping it simple is a wise approach. Less can be more. The Sand Master is simple. Its body panels snap on which makes access to the innards quick and easy, but also allows the roll cage and body to absorb impacts without breakage. The car runs with a brushed motor and NiMh so there will be less invested in batteries and a charger, and NiMh won't tear up the transaxle like LiPo can. Replacement parts are available and inexpensive. 2wd is adequate and good fun when sliding around in the dirt, or on wet or dusty asphalt, too.

For the cost of one SCB or SC10B you can have two Sand Masters. Two makes a race.
