Does somebody know where you can order big quantities of the 3010 FETs that are currently installed? Not the +5000EA quantity but also not the 10EA quantitiy of shop.tinyrc.com
Ausmicro, com are raving about them and I've just ordered enough for 3 cars.
I'll post again real soon.
BTW I'm a micro newbie but a 30yr vet in R/C. Over 50 cars, boats, tanks, planes & Helis. I only have an 01, 02, F1 & a few firelaps ATM but am really impressed by the driveability and tuneability. I'm kicking myself for missing these things for so long. A few 4wd's & iWavers are on the agenda after xmas. (a bit Xy to mod but look like fun)
I'm building a (semi) calibrated 28 scale windtunnel atm.
Trying to work out the best way of doing a rolling road?

Anyone here with experience on adding a layer of fets to the VE board?
I see PN sells a package with 3 fets, same as the standard ones, as replacement or 'to add to existing ones' to enhance performance.
My questions: is it worth? Any real increase in power, when used with PN VE motors? Any unwanted side effect (like less response).
Do you add fets to the top layer (for forward) and leave the underneath layer alone (reverse) as on brushed boards?
Anyone who has done this please reply, and a pic of how they should be soldered would also be great. If there's a thread on this already please let me know, I could not find any.
Thanks!
Do a search on youtube. There's lot of videos on stacking FETs. Changing or stacking FETs will change the throttle response and feel a little. Different FETs have different characteristics. Some have a more linear feel, some, not so much.
