why would they upgrade the unit and then make you still use the crappy transmitter, they should have made them work with any AM transmitter. that way if you have a good one, or even the stock Mini-z transmitter you can upgrade to it.

In the description of the Evo it does say it comes with a folding controller. Being able to use the K or IW Tx would be a nice improvement. Who know's, maybe (but doubtful) you might be able to.

I own both a Mini Z and the new Evo xmod and the xmod seems to be JUST as good to me,radioshack really did a great job with it, I thought it was going to be just as crappy as the gen. 1 xmods but wow, it drives like a mini z for 60.00
the Evo also has 9 amp FETs , I still upgraded them tho, BUT I did burn out my rear diff. running a nuke 130sm so thats something to watch out for!

Since you own the new Xmod, try using a standard AM transmitter with the Xmod on a "tight turn" course and let us know how well it works, if it works. Thank you in advance for the non-bias feedback.

Being the Devoted xmodder that i am, I too have noticed the new cars. I plan on ordering the G35 or the F-150. I am simply disgusted that they made a hummer instead of a Nissan titan.

You are very wrong there. They were offically released September 9th, (says the fat person at radioshack). Why they aren't in stores yet i do not know, but th warehouses don't have them because ive been trying to order one for the last 2 weeks.
