Try binding the RWD to the FWD transmitter and see if the issue persists... I havent used any of the new electronics, so my knowledge is very limited in those regards.

On the agenda, hopefully will have a chance to do all of that come this weekend.
On the subject of plugging in the transponder to either 3 or 4 pin sockets on the RWD board, has anyone done this who can provide a pic with transponder plugged in to show the -/+ pin locations?
Finally got a chance to sort things out and glad to report reverse is functioning flawlessly now. Basically all I did was re-bind. Did notice the negative motor wire was literally connected by like 3 strands to the screw-on tab so that got fixed prior to re-binding. Who knows if that had anything to do with the issues before.
just to make sure ran FWD and RWD simultaneously and individually repeatedly over the course of 2 hours turning both radios off and on for each car and no reverse issues at all and also no issues with training mode coming on either.
BTW the new boards & radios (RWD/FWD) do perform very well on the track "as box stock" the only motor / format i've tested so far, i would say at least as good as brushed ASF but i feel it's slightly better overall ... throttle feels very crisp and gusty and the overall response time of the electronics including servo is simply fast...I'd be curious to know if the servo resolution matches the ASF servos but at box stock speeds it's not noticeable at all if that's the case.
Looking forward to some good old box stock racing, multiple cars on the same lap start to finish and unlike ASF/MHS with the propriety raido this time my chassis front end will never be cut to be moded beyond box stock.
Thank you for the detailed description. Definitely a step up from sports. I think the fets are a large improvement over the 3010 on the ASF. But, they only use a single stack instead of the parallel design used on AD and ASF.

Agreed with comparison to sport...I've driven a sport 2 belonging to a club member and there's a noticeable difference in steering feel compared to RWD, RWD being far more superior. & according to conversations with 10th scalers in the know there's been huge strides made in FET technology during the past decade which naturally is benefiting RWD boards too.
And to be clear on my part, when I'm comparing the RWD with ASF I mean it feels better the latest MR-03 tiki tiki ASF boards (not just original 2.4 or older AD's) & again in box stock format which is all i got to test so far since is the only class I'll be using RWD's for.
