Different colored fasteners for RCP

What do you think about different colored fasteners? As our small group is expanding, and more people are getting RCP tracks, we're now up to 5 Ls. Instead of putting stickers on the rails or marking them in some way, I think an easy way to tell them apart would be to have different colored fasteners. Not sure how this would complicate the ordering process. Just a thought.

Though it is a pretty cool idea, wouldn't be cheaper for both RCP and you guys if you just got a can of spray paint each and just painted the top of the fasteners yourselves? Say Racer A keeps them grey, Racer B paints his blue, Racer C paints his red and so on. If you keep the rails on the track then you would not need stickers on the rails or on the bottom of the tiles either.

(Figured there would be some sort of price involved for RCP to get different pigment for the plastic.)

i was thinking the same thing-

krylon fusion spray paint works wonder for plastics. you could use hobby paint but it's prolly more expensive than the krylon, maybe someone in your club paints models or bodies and has some appropriate spray paint around in different colors to let you all mark your fasteners.

Welcome to the forum Gryphon. What part of the world are you in?

We have the multiple “L” owner dilemma here in Phoenix too. A colored Sharpie marker stripe on the plastic fastener does the trick. I used a paint-marker to tag the sides of my tiles, but the Sharpie stripe in plain view is easier to read during tear-down.

We also assemble the track in blocks so that each owner’s tiles are grouped together for less confusion during tear-down.

Thanks Dusty! We're in Minneapolis, MN and just getting under way in the Z world. Started out carpet racing xmods in a conference room at work, and now have naturally progressed in the 1/28th scale world.

We're marking our fasteners with Sharpies right now, but I figured the existing fasteners are more than likely dyed grey anyway, so it probably wouldn't be difficult or more expensive to add different colors.

Ultimately it would be great to do something like the Salt Lake guys did with their templates on the rails, but with the free time we can all find right now, you can bet we'll be racing instead.
