Ar-265-v2 90mm ultra narrow motor pod set (-2mm offset, mr-02/03)

any chance this will be released in black as the other 90mm mounts have been?

Problem

ok, bought the kit and surprise, the shaft will not fit in any bearings none of the bearings are labeled so i don't recall the manuf. however i tried all my large opening bearings and the shaft will not slide thru any of them.

what do i do now? is it a bad shaft? were we supposed to use certain bearings in the motor pod?

i'm trying to thin the shaft with super fine diff ring sand paper but it's not doing enough right now.

Arch, Mine was like that too. Just chuck the shaft in your Dremel and sand it with 4oo grit wet or dry sandpaper. It helps if you use a rubber sanding block ( I wrapped my sandpaper around a rubber spot putty spreader available at automotive paint shops). Keep a bearing handy and try sliding it on the shaft till you get it where you want it. I was surprised how little time it took to get it to size!

working on that now but bigger problem is not bending the shaft in the process. it's already 1/16" out of round as it is.

it's the same risk when needing to fix anything right out the box, you can f' it up even more before you even get to use it. i think i'm already headed that route

i'm sure Atomic will hook you up with another one if you ask...but I know what you mean about parts needing modded right out of the pack. Kind of annoying!
