Porsche Le Mans winning 993 GT 1

Hi y'all,

some weeks ago, I found an old Tamiya static kit in my basement. Look what I've done with it. Hope you like it.

To see more pictures, click the big image on the first page so you go to the gallery section.

Wow! looks great. Is that a 1:24 or a 1:25 Tamiya scale kit?

That looks very similar to the converted Carrera Porsche 911 GT1 Evo Slot Car body I used on MR-02mm Enzo chassis.

I've got one too, actually two of them but I don't have pictures of the second one yet.

This one is a revell kit. It was raced and the modified body is quite durable.

What is the wheelbase setup that is needed to use the Tamiya 1/24 kit? I found a spot fairly local that I can pick one up.

Thanks in advance.

I use an MR-01 chassis with normal H-plate and a MR-02 MM motormount. This way, you can fit 1/24 scale bodies.

But ... you'll need to watch out, the body will be a lot wider than the chassis track, so you'll have to use the largest wheels or make some yourself. There's a link on my website (project index) on how to make larger wheels.

Thanks for the info. Do you know if the Enzo offsets will be enough to fill the rear? Front wheels I have a few that I can play with the offsets (MR01 wheels on MR02 chassis). For the rears, I can use some PVC tubing glued to normal offset wheels with 2 sets of tires on each if they are not wide enough This will give extra traction. I plan on either getting the GT1, GT2 or 959 (other possibilities are the R390 or the Sauber C9).

The work on your site is amazing btw. I really like that 956 F1 mod. I wish that Kyosho would do a line older LM racers.

TNB, who makes that Carrera Porsche 911 GT1 Evo slot car body? I'd really like to have one.

Without knowing I guess I answered my own question. I thought "Carrera" was in reference to the sub-version of the 911, not the model maker.

Thanks for the link!

Zee.
