A good friend of mine was gracious and kind enough to give me this model kit after admiring his many 1:24 Porsche model kit conversions. This one in particular is a perfect match for 94mm. I currently have it setup with MR-03N, MM2 configuration with W0 14mm rear and N+2 front wheels/tires. I have no doubt you couldrun this in W configuration with N0 or at worst N-.5.

I had wanted to do a tribute to Magnus Walker Porsche but I don't have the decals appropriate for that. Even considered a classic ralley livery but again, don't have those decals on hand and shipping from AU is currently taking a month or more so chose to go with something I have on hand and would fit in with my 'team' so chose the custom Michelin livery.

Right off the bat, the good thing about this model kit is it's a once piece shell. the only thing I had to glue on were same bits you would have to do for an Autoscale; the lights, lends, glass, wipers and mirror as well as exhaust.

My friend whom gave me the kit also kindly 3d printed the body clips, nose clip and nose socket parts as well. He's done so many of these 1:24 conversion that I'm sure it's second hand now.

Nothing spectacular about the livery, it's my custom 'inverse' Suaber C9 livery that i have printed by Patto. Given the model is true to scale 1:24, I have no doubt I could order just about anything from Patto and it would fit great. Turns out this livery looks good on this car in my own opinion. It has a bit of a classic look to it with the simple white, red and black colors.

I will warn others, 1:24 model kits can be really expensive. Much more than a finished Autoscale in some cases. Revell also makes some decent Level 3 one piece shell models that are similarly priced and can be found between $27-35 making it comparable to Kyosho white body. With 3d printing being rather common place these days, there is little limit to the ability to adapt model kits to Mini-Z. Just need to find something that fit's a set wheelbase and appropriate construction to survive track use.

Amazing! That looks great. 3D printers open up a whole new world of adapters. The fitment is really good, what wheel base and offset did you end up with?

Are you really going to drive that on the track with other cars?

I have a Tamiya Porsche 959 kit that's been sitting on my shelf for 20 years. You're inspiring me to finally do something with it.

Setup on 94mm MR-03N, +2N front and 0W (14mm) rear.

Yep, I race 99% of my paint jobs I keep. I only have one currently that I have not used.
