Small scale Tamiya RC 4x4

Looks like Tamiya's coming out with their own small scale 4x4 RC truck...

Looks like crap... I will asume its just a prototype? I am sick of smaller than they should be bodies put on chassis with big tires so the tires look bigger lol...

I think it looks alright. It looks like it suppose to be tinkered with, upgraded and customized.
Prototype? Probably. Even the box looks like a mock up.
I personally don't care for the small-body/huge-tire vehicles either but if you want the off-road long throw suspension, that's what you get.

I read some press release that said it could be run inside your house, just like they said about the Mini-T. Do these people think we all live in mansions? I'd get the T first myself as well, that looks like it would be fun on our indoor off-road track, this Tamiya truck looks very top heavy. If I have to take it outside I might as well run my Clod.

Tamiya Mini Truck

Hmmm... I agree with Ken, it says "mod the bejeezuz outa me"
To be honest though, it looks a little top heavy with the alloy tub chassis design. The ESC is right on the top too.
Perhaps it is a mock up or prototype, but I do like the suspension, looks like there is ample travel on that.

One thing, let's never write Tamiya off, as some may remember, Tamiya beat everyone to small-scale RC almost 16 years ago with those awesome TamTech 1/24 scale cars that are still capable of making any modded Mini-Z (MR-02 included) look somewhat stupid in terms of performance and handling.
They are [still] quite capable of whupping any standard Micro RS4 too.

As for housepets, I dont think the Mini-T is a housepet, it comes with a 280 sized motor. The Micro RS4 shipped with a 180 sized motor and that is a little too quick for general indoor use.
Overlands and Mini-Z's are more like real housepets.

I for see them producing the "sides" to the chassis out of tubes or someting in a final version, maybe that or just cut out unessessary sections to make it look like a tube chassis... its likely just 2 big plates side by side so they can put new screw holes were ever they want to change it... no doubt they will sell it with a clod buster body at some point in the future... lol

Thumbs up It's real

Here's more info on the Tamiya small-scale RockBuster 4x4 from Tamiya's own site:

http://www.tamiya.com/japan/products...ster/index.htm

Does that look like a 540 motor?

I think that would be pretty cool 1/18 scale rock crawing with front and rear locked diffs. I think the final product will be cool. tamiya has always had cool customizable 4 link susp. trucks
