Help with I.C.S. and windows vista

Hey everybody, got a bit of a problem here. I just got an ics unit and a new laptop that runs windows vista. I can't seem to install the driver for the ics unit. Is there a way around this? Or does the ics only work with xp?

another reason to hate vista made the mistake of buying a new laptop and not choosing the 'downgrade' to xp professional.

i hope you can solve the problem. have the ics adapter purchase in mind as well but pointless if it's not compatible.

This might help:

I have Vista also. If you can get the driver to your desktop, you might be able to change the compatibility properties. I'm not sure if this will work or not, but it might.

So I tried using the xp compatiblity mode but that only works when .exe files and the driver files aren't that. Anybody else have any ideas? I was able to get the ics unit to work on my home computer which runs xp, but now I can't use my laptop to make changes at races.

I guess no one know about Windows Vista compatibility with the ICS software.

Has anyone tried running the ICS software with Windows 7?

Sorry I can't help with the ICS compatibility problems with Vista. But maybe it might make you feel a little better, I am a MAC guy, and I forked-out $210 for Windows XP Pro and VMware Fusion software for my MacBook Pro so I can use the ICS software. My wallet's still killing me....

I'll have to check that with my brother wich version it is.
We didnt used compatibility mode, just plug in the dongle and point to the drivers on the CD.

I'll get back to you with the version.

I have been using the 02 ICS program and the 03 programs versions 1.00 and 1.01 on Windows Vista successfully using the drivers EMU posted, see this thread:http://http://mini-zracer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31644&highlight=ics. Follow his instructions and put them in one directory after download and extracting.

Thanks EMU!
