Did I purchased the correct capacitors for my stock motor?
Hi everyone,
My old stock motor is not functioning very well and today I went to purchased a new silver can motor and some capacitors with "103" printed on them. They are blue and is a different shape when compared with the ones on the stock motor. Did I purchased the correct capacitors?
Hi Skylineboy....if you purchased that motor from D_ick Smith or Jaycar, open it up, as I am almost sure you will find the brushes are not carbon....but the brass or copper ones. If so, get some carbon ones, and replace them...also, find out the number of winds and wire gauge on that motor....you could burn your FETs.
As far as the caps go, I think they are fine, as they look like non polarised caps similar to what I have. But open that motor up...it is worth it for peace of mind.

Thanks for the advice, for you might have save my Z from burning out the FETs! (i was planning to put the motor in tomorrow)
You are very good! I did bought the motor from D. Smith. I'll opened up the motor tomorrow to have a look at the brushes and check out how many turn is it.
