I use Zround with the EasyLap USB system. It works great, but there is a long delay between when the cars pass the bridge and the speakers beep. Is there a setting to adjust this? I know the EasyLap hardware picks up the signal instantly because there are LED that light up on the sensors and the control module that plugs into the laptop, I would just like the speakers to beep right when the cars pass the bridge instead of after the cars are about 5 to 8 feet past the bridge. Anyone know how to adjust this?
When the detection message arrives, it is dumped to the zround console.
The application locate the transponder to compare last pass in order to apply the min lap time and compute times to get best lap, personal records, etc. The computing effort is very low so it should introduce a delay of some milliseconds. It depends on the number of registered racers, speech usage and the computing power of your PC. You don't need a supercomputer to get it working with any noticeable delay.
Please, pay attention to the console. If the detection is shown just when the car pass but the beep sounds seconds later, then it could be due some issue (software, installation, speech synthetizer) and I could try to improve the feature (i.e. beep before compute anything). But if you hear the beep just when the detection is dumped to the console then I could do nothing :-(
I have observed this behavior as well and in my case it is because the detection message arrives with delay to the application.
