is this tray any good for AAA batts ,is the discharge rate to high thanks for any input
its very good especially if you get the special addtion one which has a hold feature... the hold feature will keep the batteries at the desired volts selected until you take them off... it discharges at 3 amps and will balance all the cells indivudually...
another great discharger is the muchmore discharger.... it discharges at 5 amps and can also be used as a matcher as it will give single cell readouts for average volts and time to discharge...
either one is a good investment for aaa batteries as they will both increasr punch and runtime...

I use the Smart Tray SE at home, and Atomic tray at the track (save space in my bag). Great for breaking in batteries. I always discharge before the first charge, and charge slow for the first couple charges (1A or less). I think this makes a difference... After that I abuse the cells for a few months before I get new ones. I try to replace my race cells every 3 months, where my race cells become qualify/practice cells.

Yes. It only discharges. It is meant for people that charge as a pack, to equalize the cells (make sure they are at the same voltage), so you reduce the amount of false peaks and all of the cells dump at the same time. When you dump, you dump hard, it doesnt gradually slow down like when the cells are not equalized before the charge. When you get that gradual slow down, it means one cell has dumped and you are essentially running on three cells. This will hurt that one cell in the long run, so avoid running when you start noticing that it dumps...
