OL MONSTER GARAGE PROJCT: Stadium Race Truck
The OL MONSTER GARAGE has recieved another project..........to build a Chevy Stadium Race Truck from a DONATED Chevy SUV.
RCM has donated the Chevy SUV that will be used for this project......
(maybe he donated it because of it's weight and size, maybe because it's time to start a race truck craze, and maybe because he wants something that looks FAST!!!)
.......Thats right! A FREEBIE, Nada, Zip, Zero cost!
First step is to gut the SUV and prep it for it's transformation into a pick-up.....break out the saws-all and remove the bumpers, the top from behind the front doors..........
Step 2, Remove the glass, and remaining roof rack, Bondo the rear door seam and handle, and the remainder of the rear window. Quick sand all the rough areas and existing battle scars.....
More updates as the project moves ahead!

No way! No fair Dog! You must have been reading my mind or something! I'm working on a Chevy S10 stadium truck style body as well. I started with the AMT model kit though. I'm keeping mine as light as possible though, and with as low a CG as possible. I got tired of the poor handling and lack of stability of the LC body in our OL racing, especially when another guy got an X5 and cleaned our clocks. So far it looks like my body will come out just a little more than half the weight of the LC body and with a much lower CG. I had to cut 1/4" out of the bed to fit the rear wheelbase at the longest setting. I'm leaving the front wheelbase at the shortest setting. This seems to be helping it keep the nose up off ramps. I'd share a photo but my computer is having problems, it refuses to talk to my camera. Unfortunately this will require a full reinstall of my system, so it may be a while.

Thats going to look sick, i cant wait to see the finished product. I have a couple bodies im working on myself. One was comming along nicely when taking breaks from studying for finals, but then i ran out of super glue...... so i cant finish it until i go home. It needs a paint job aswell.

That looks much better once you got the roll bar on. Is it a brass roll bar or plastic?
I'm thinking about making my Hummer H3XT body into a Baja truck now!

As with most of my projects....it's styrene plastic...much lighter and forgiving than brass

This being where I am an expert at I thought I would post some inspiration
http://www.rcpics.net/member/USATorque55
EDIT-To me it seems like you need a wider stance. Maybe not as wide as a Mini-T. But look at any Baja race, majority have a low wide stance to them.
BTW if anyone cares the T is running-Beast Motor, Bearings, 7.2V Pack, GPM Delrin Gearing, Oil Filleds, Spring Set
