greetings once again... just got back from h.k. and guess what folks... got to find out that there's a kyosho hong kong shop over there (actually got a tip from 'donut' - one of the forum members)...
the shop's main focus is on kyosho's d-nano... the shop is located along yin chong st. (tel no 21160656) which is quite near to the hobby shop row on kwong wa st.
upon entering the door on the ground floor, you take the stairs which brings you to the second floor which is where all the goods are... oh did i mention that they have a dnano track up there?
they even have some other stuff like planes and boats... hmm... what's that? a minium.... (mwwhahahahhaha - evil laugh in the background... small voice inside my head... "it will be mine" - mwhahahhaahaha)
and finally got to see one up close, and how it actually ran... they're smaller than i expected... and the one you see below is box stock, and ran faster than i expected...
and now for the shocking news...
price for ready to run kit with controller, charger and battery... 2,280 h.k.d. (approx 293 u.s.d.) man i really wasn't expecting that!!!!
this comes with a one month free use of their track... otherwise it would be 20 h.k.d. per hour (approx 2.59 u.s.d. per hour) or 60 h.k.d. whole day (approx 7.74 u.s.d.)
mwhaaahahahaaa (herman's eevil laugh)... here's kyosho's minium... pretty sweet... looks a whole lot bigger than i expected... price?
at 1,280 h.k.d (approx 165 u.s.d.) it's ready to fly and comes complete with charger and controller... not too bad eh?... plus it's the newer 4 channel version... (first edition was only 3 channel)... they do sell the body er i mean plane only version (if in case you do crash) for 680 h.k.d. (approx 87.67 u.s.d.)
it will be mine... mwhahahahahaaahaah (once again, herman's eeevil laugh)...
or so i thought... took the dimensions of the box... to see if it would fit in my luggage... 19 inches x 15.5 inches x 5.5 inches... oh well maybe next time... guess the last laugh was on me...
Aha been to that store not so long ago....love those Dnanos and saw a few guys race them on that track....was eyeing up the white porsche untill i saw the price!! I have been going to Action Hobbies round the corner for all my Z parts the store owner Andy is a great guy!
I drive my dnano there all the time! Great fun! Andy is definitely a great guy. I've bought a lot of stuff from him.
so how does it run with hop ups? and what hop ups did you put on your dnano? when is the place busy? meaning what time is the track usally full of cars?
yeah it was pretty awsome... unfortunately i had a budget that i had to stick to...
so no parts... i was able to score a couple of bodies though...
mitsubishi evo x
arta nsx 2007
subaru wrx sti spec c (awd version)
ferrari 430gt
jet alliance dbr9
xanavi nismo gtr 2008
gulf F1 GTR ... the lark was out of stock... but was able to see a couple... man it really looked hot... one was 'not for sale' and the other one cost way too much (and was pretty obvious that it came from a ready set)... and finally saw 2 or 3 being sold as a ready kit... didn't want to buy that either...
hopefully will be posting pics and some reviews....
again everything was rush rush rush.... but was happy just to be able to do some of the things that i planned to do... and visiting the hobby shops along kwong wah st... is always on the top of my list...
This shop is now closed or relocated I heard. However, there are 15 - 20 Hobby shops on the adjacent block. Two Mini-z tracks are not too far from there.
