Thanksgiving Day Races

I took some track and 4 cars to our huge thanksgiving family dinner. I'm talking Aunts,Unckles, cousins, second cousins and so forth and so on.

I took about 2 1/2 wild L tracks with me and 4 cars.

it was a fun day, except I probably should have put the cars back to stock, Especially the motors.

So I came home with only 2 cars working. the ones that the adults were driving. The kids just couldn't seem to understand that when they are stuck on the rails that they need to let off the throttle.

so on one car I have one blown fet. and one that de-soldered itself (still good though). on the other if blew and de-soldered. Making my job easy as removal is more complicated.

I spend last nigh changing out the fets and now everything is good to go. I really need to get me some of the 3010 fet. it would have been the perfect time to put them on....

the best part... I might have 2 or 3 new racers coming to race...

was it worth it...Absolutely.

When I'm doing out-of-club events... I usually try to loosen up the diffs a bit, this may help to save a fet or two. Plus... if a kid is trying to drive through a rail, you'll hear it whining and be able to spot the offender.

With family gatherings though, there's so much going on that you wouldn't be able to keep an eye on the track all the time. It might result in some extra work, but as long as we've got guys with a great attitude like Brian's, our hobby's got a very bright future ahead. Cheers!

it's all in good fun. At least ererything was repairable, and I already had the fets so no biggie.

Arch, I plan on purchasing at least 10 or so of the 3010 fets to put on all my cars. I was just waiting for some additional funds so I can get a ASC or something as well..

Ed, I should have thought about the diffs...

Fish, thanks for the compliment.

i ran a turkey day racing thing a couple years ago. i decided it was easier to use overlands as i had 4 of them at the time. they were a bit more durable for bashing.
