Charging Soldered Battery Packs?

Can I use my Rayovac PS4 charger to charge soldered-together AAA 750 mAh NiMH battery packs, such as a 4-cell for the Pro-Z chassis or 6-cell for a Mini X?

Since I'll be using Deans plugs for my electrical connections, I was thinking of just making an adapter from a Radio Shack 9 Volt-style battery pigtail, and using the 9 Volt port on the PS4 for charging the battery pack(s).

I don't want to buy a new charger is I don't need to.

All thoughts and comments appreciated!

I'm not famillar with the ps4 but recomend buying a better charger. You can get a realitivley cheap NiMH charger these days . I use my 1/10 scale charger for my miniz. I peak charge 4 750's at around 1.5 amps. Check out the Piranaha.

BigVxxx... there's nothing really wrong with his charger... he's asking if SOLDERED together batteries would work on his PS4 (which I have as well, although the batteries can get hot sometimes).... unfortunately johnrtse, I do not know if/how you could do it.... sorry dude!

Hey, ShMonk informed me I miss understood your question. Sorry. I don't know why you want to make 4cell packs for miniz's(saddle packs/2 aside?). Sound like some serious s**t.
Let me know if it works out for you!!!!!

Get word to WestF1 of your idea.....he use to use rayovac's charger. There's a few racers at our club who might know......check out ThomThumb in regional clubs at this site.

Friendly Reminder: NiMH batteries are considered high maintenance batteries like NiCad which require regular discharging cycles to prevent voltage depression. "Crystaline Formation" occurs in these batteries resulting in capacity loss due to there nickel plating. Miniz batteries are inexpesive, but if your going to make packs you may want to think of a new charger in the future Good Luck and Good Racing!!!!!!!!!11
