Are Readyset prices decreasing around the world?

Over the past few weeks, I've noticed the price of the mini z in Australia has fallen from AUD300 (USD150) to as low as AUD200 (USD100).

This is great value and makes our prices comparable to other countries, but are dealers discontinuing the line or is it a permanent price drop?

I guess it is geting cheaper here to. All the LHS I'm use to have somekind of sellout in diffrent modells from z-8 to F1.
My guess is that the old F1's gona be really cheap over here when the 2002 edition will come.

I think that the prices have dropped because the "novelty" effect has dropped off. The Z's no longer "novel," its mainstream. Even parts are getting cheaper (look at the HUGE drop in price for parts on the various auction/hobby shop/forum sites).

Its the same effect that the FURBY craze had a few years ago, along with the Tickle-Me-Elmo. Now, you can't PAY people to buy a Furby or Tickle-Me-Elmo.

Prices for the Z will stabilize and everyone will benefit. I actually think that there are some stores here in Hawaii that are LOSING money because they've overstocked on Mini-Z's.

I tried to edit to add this line, but it wouldn't let me...

(continued)... Expect a SALE on Mini-Z's (the ones already in stock) sometime before Christmas as the stores here in Hawaii start clearing shelf space for Christmas items.

I think it's because Kyosho's niche in this tiny RC market is getting smaller, and they're getting hit from both ends.
The clones, and even their own PalmRunner, are on the low end.
Then the more serious DTMs, Tripmates, etc...

I like the Z because it's damn fun (and serious enough) but doesn't cost you a freaking fortune.

Kits up here are around 100$ US at the LHS. (166.95 CAN$)

it's a great racing hobby both for those on a budget or have a bottomless wallet.

i especially like the idea of being indoors. year round fun regardless of the weather.

I may have found the reason...

READ THIS: http://mini-zracer.com/forums/showth...&threadid=3835

It might be the reason for the cheaper ReadySets...

made in china perhaps? I bought my Z for $235 CND for the ones made in Jap.... now my LHS are stocking China ones which were $199 CND 3 months ago.... I think they are about $170 CND now.... If the prices get lower, i might consider buying another Z....
