the REAL reason Overlands come so low....

so you can lift em! i put some knobby lego tires on mine, gives it a scale 3 or 4in lift. its cool as hell. ill get pics when i get a chance.

oh yea - its driveable

k, well, i finally got around to getting pics.

this pic really shows how much taller and wider the stance is. its pretty agressive for just adding bigger tires.

Excellant work! Does it help prevent the tendency to roll over? Those are obviously Z-racer wheels, but what width are they?

Looks pretty good. What lego kit did the tires come from?
And whats up with the wheels?

theyre wide. the fronts are F360 (spraypainted gold - they look much better on that CLK i did), and the rears are CLK, so theyre wide. i dunno which kit those came from, but i think theyre technic tires. it doesnt really affect the way it rolls, cause theyre both taller and wider, so the CG is only slightly rasied.

and whats up with the wheels? they dont match, cause i didnt have 4 wide rears that matched lying around

I REALLY like it.

if somebody does some checking and finds a cheap (<$10) lego / technics kit with those tires in it, I would be very greatful!

I have a trunk full of lego's, but none of the tires are that large...

Please post measurements of those tires. I know the inside diameter is close to 1", but what about the heigth and width? I'm trying to find them at http://www.brinklink.com . If we find them for sale separately, then we could probably buy them very cheap (about $5 for a set of four, shipping included).

Lego Tires

wrcracer

Nice idea there, now I'll never walk past another Lego retailer without browsing the Technic kits for those tires.
Fortunately I have a large collection of 'Z wheels to use.
