Brushless stock class

What are the plans for brushless stock?
About time this gets done now since Kyosho discontinues the brushed cars.
Enlighten us.

brushed cars are not dicontinued just the asf. And brushed cars are the still the standard seeing as the brushless is not really as good. There really isn't a viable stock brushless motor because even with the lower kv motors you can gear them to get simmilar lap times as the higher kv motor. Not the same but close enough. I don't see pn making stock cass brushless until they either come out with their own brushless system or kyosho releases a decent sensored system. Just my two cents.

Question about the brushless' shortcomings...

Can you describe what about the operation that is undesirable, specifically? Not enough levels of speed control? Does it seem like the controller is chasing your speed command? I'm curious as I've yet to actually mess around with brushless anything, let alone mini-z's.

We have been exploring a 70t speed brushless motor.... Things are looking good on that front... However... Some feel that it is not fair to mix the stock class with a brushless equivalent... Feeling that there will be an advantage... Or the pressure to make an additional investment to the brushless set up... Imo think it will be a great advancement...

Unless it is a sensored system there will be no bennefit of runnung brushless. Technically if a brushless motor has the same power as a brushed motor than the brushed motor will yeild fatser times. This is because the current brushless system avialabe are basically on off swiches. They have a very limmited powerband and the overall feel is not smooth enough, nor is there enough drag break. On an extremely easy and open layout like that of the PNWC this difference may be less. The only advantage of the brushless motors is there is less variaton from motor to motor which is why I say only if, later on, a sensored board that you can drop into you car becomes avialable should brushless motors be used in stock class. Personally I don't like any of the brushless motors for any racing whether mod or stock and therefore don't really see their bennefit as I look for the best performer when it comes to lap times. Usually the fastest car down the straightway is not the car setting hot laps or winning races. In stock having a faster motor is a huge advantage but the fastest guys can win with the slowest motor
