Xmods Evolution and Mini-96

Hi,

I was wondering can the new Evolution series Xmods pull off cornering on the Mini-96? I know the old ones couldn't do the hairpins on a 22" track so I am curious if I should buy an Evolution. I will be going downtown this afternoon so if you have an answer please do so now

Thanks

You shouldn't have any problem making that turn with the EVO, it has a really tight turning radius.

I made a track using 1 tile with from a wide L and the evo will make those turns.

hope this helps

Brian

Brian is right, it is a night and day difference in turning radius between Gen 1 and EVO. The EVO blows away the old xmod in all aspects.

hhhmmm... we had a guy bring one to our track which is a wide RCP and it didnt seem to turn any better than the gen 1. It wouldnt even make it around the track without running out of range. It didnt seem any better than the gen1 as far as preformance. I did drive it myself but after trying to make it a couple laps around I gave up on it.

That guy must have gotten a bad one like my first EVO, the replacement I got from RS is much better than Gen 1

I have added bearings, and the AWD Kit since then, Oh, and the light kit, and the ground effect lights. It pretty sweet now.

The AWD kit seemed to help alot with the traction rolling, I hardly ever roll it now. I wouldn't have thought it would make that much difference but it did.

I have some good pictures on my website, I need to add new ones with the body kit I added.

The transmitter is exactly the same except for a shiny new decal.

How do I know if it is the new generation or if it is the older generation... I was at Radioshack (The Source in Canada) and there were a dozen or or Readysets but I couldn't tell which ones were Evolution models... I loved the look of the 65' Stang though

The new versions are called Xmods Evolution. The price in the US is also $10 more on the RTRs.

it will also have a blue X in the wrapping around the case, not the clear X, also the chassis is green and gray, the gen 1 xmod is black and grey.

okay, thanks. I guess they haven't hit Canada yet. Ah well, I guess I was just jumping prematurely at AWD getting ready for Kyosho's release.
