I just finished sourcing 4pk radios for 3 different friends for $125usd. Oddly enough they all looked pretty much new since everyone I know treats radios with respect and doesn't "beat up" the most important aspect of their rc experience.

All most of us are trying to say is that if you are reasonably resourceful and have minor soldering skill (if I can do this mod anyone can) you can save yourself some money and get a radio that is a great steer that you can use for all scales.

But if you say the ex6 is the best there ever was we could all wait another 6 months until the next best improvement from KO comes out and you jump on that bandwagon.
I am not jumping on the bandwagon because I was the first one at my club to try one. I am not saying there aren't any other good radios out there I am just saying that at the price of the ex-6 there is not a better radio than it. And if you ask anyone who has been able to get one it they will only say positive things for it.

Furthermore, I never insulted you or anyone so there is no need for you to be a scumbag and insult me over my opinion on radios. They are just things so relax, I am sorry if you are so defensive over your futaba that you have to criticize anyone who says there is a better radio out there.

And just so you understand the difference I will provide a personal anecdote on what the radio has done for me to make me support it so much:

The first week I got the radio I was turning the same laps as I was with my helios with a 901 asf module (which means that it would be nearly the same as a futaba since a 901 is also neccessary in the futaba) and by the second week (last night) I was able to win my local weekly club race by two laps, and for those of you who don't know my local club happens to be the most competitive and fastest mini-z club in N. America (and probably anywhere else too). Two laps may not seem like a big deal but the big deal was that I never made a single unforced error. I never drove the car into the wall, barely even glanced the walls. May still not seem like a big deal, now imagine driving with 2s lipo with the Marka tires with a lexan body with the mrx chassis, with a 32t can (50t armature). Now that you understand the level of competition it would be easy to understand why it is commonplace for the best drivers from other clubs to show up to race here and be B-mainers, which is also why not many travel to our club in the first place. So to win without making a single mistake, and having an avg pace be only .3xxx seconds from my fastest lap on only my second week with the radio... yeah I am impressed. Not only that, but I have been a staunch advocate of buying used and cheap products because I am always on a budget, but for this radio I would tell anyone just to buy it. I was one of the strongest critics of the KO ex-1 kiy, but the issues have been resovled in this radio and I can say with out a shadow of a doubt this is the best radio for mini-z (in my experience and opinion).
But then again what do I know

If someone at my local club happens to buy an EX-6 I look forward to trying it.

As far as speed goes using an internally integrated module that is 100% digital may reduce the response time by 20 milliseconds - which can be quite important. What the companies always fail to tell you is how much time the radio itself takes to generate the control data from the user input. This is one area that Futaba excels(after being called out on in years ago with a very slow heli radio).

I use my 4PK with a home brew 2.4 GHz system that blows away nearly all commercial systems. The Futaba 2.4 GHz transmitter has been completely removed. It also has a miniz module stuffed inside of course. I find it very helpful to use the same radio with all of the various scales I drive/race. The menu interfaces are also very good(unlike many older Futaba radios).

So there are many options out there for people.

It's not the opinion I have a problem with it's how you word your responses...

If you had stopped right here everyone would have understood your views

If you already had that then yeah, but getting something new you should start with the most cost effective, and with the precision and quality for the price there is not a radio on the market that can touch ko right now. I mean some places are charging $600 for the 4px or whatever while the ex-2 is 220 and the ex-6 is 250...(both are the same but ex-2 is 1/10th and 03ve pro)
A prime example of your adding to the subject while disrepecting another members views on the subject

Also you are not factoring the cost of inserting a module and the fact that most people do not have the skill to modify their radio to the degree neccesary to make a clean install. For 330 you can have MHS, ASF, and FHSS (1/10th) compatability.

Also I only referenced the 4px to demonstrate the price difference between radios on the market. Having tried or at the very least held most radios out there that can be used with Mini-Z I can say confidently there is not a radio more durable than the Helios/Eurus and there is not a more comfortable radio than the ex-6. Like I said you should not overlook the fact that radios designed specifically for mini-z and the steering speed that we have are at a distinct advantage. There is a clear difference in steering speed and resolution between module based asf and the newer ex-1/6. While the ex-1 had its issues the ex-6 seems to have none of the gremlins that plagued the ex-1.

Everyone prefers a different radio feel but at this point with how modular and adjustable the radios are right now you can set the KO radios to exactly what you feel most comfortable with. Don't get me wrong the Helios/Eurus and ex-1ur all felt sturdy and comfortable and are still outstanding radios (along with other module based radios) but they are not equal to the new radios. The ex-6 was the first radio I bought new and I really can now appreciate the difference between buying someones beat up used radio and having the best radio that is yours from the start.
Again you go on at length disrepecting a members opinion by touting on and on about how great you think it is when you clearly stated your opinion at length already....

Finally this is the exact example I wanted to see you type. It is the prime reason why I am getting tired of your "holier than thou" approach to this site.

I have no doubt you an excellent pilot of a mini-z. What I find annoying (to the point of supposedly "offending you") and being some sort of jerk towards you (maybe I am I have been known to at times) is that feel that it is incredibly relevant to share your racing exploits ad nauseum and essentially make me feel that you must prove to all of us how incredibly superior you are. This is not the only thread where I've seen you spout on and on essentially repeating the same gist about how much you love a product just so you can discount others opinions and have the last word on the subject.

"But then again what do I know" is the quintessential example of your arrogance....

I really hope you understand what point I'm trying to make here.

1. post in a thread your opinion/experience....period
2. Try not to discount others opinions because while you may have experience with one aspect others input is perfectly valid as well.

I will end my rant heer by getting back to the topic at hand:

I certainly would look forward to trying the EX-6 but in the meantime I will keep using my 4PK-S for mini-z, 18th scale, 10th scale (on and off-road) and 1/5th scale (off road)
