I've got surfing, 2 motorcycles and a demanding girlfriend so there's a lot of stuff competing for my time (she's not really at the bottom of the list LOL!). this little project is something i've been toying with doing for over 12 months now.
it is super-cool having somewhere to practice. i'm already getting back to the skill levels I had when I was more heavily into RC.
trouble is, the more I use the cars, the more I find myself thinking of ways to spend more cash, like on a raised section, maybe 2x 2.4 ghz mr-02s, a core lap counting system, a dedicated lowish spec laptop just to run the timing software, that sort of thing. it's a real shame there isn't a club nearby.
I was getting pretty fed up with the layout in the pics - it was difficult to get a 'flow' going. so I took it all up and started again, this time with a simplified layout and an extra 4 inches of lane width everywhere except the main straight.
there's also a nice balance of left / right handers. obviously being an anti-clockwise track, left handers dominate, but the RH corners are pretty rapid.
