2002 Subaru Impreza WRC fit stock Kyosho Lit Kit(s)?

I had this body back in the day, and remember it had removable "led plugs", or at lease what I thought were "led plugs" in the head and possibly tail lights.

I'm looking to buy an MA-020VE Pro SP to bash around the house. Think I want to go with the 2002 WRC body.

If I'm recalling correctly,

-What size LEDs are they for?

-Which modern Kyosho Light Kits Fit it? (size?)

-How many LEDs does the headlights, and tail lights accept?

Cheerio,

*edit* can mod change "lit" in title to "light". No idea how that happened.

hmm... kyosho offered a subaru rtr with a light kit (just checked)...
however they offer it as a mr03s (sports) rtr kit...

having a ma-020ve pro might be a bit pricey to just "bash around the house"... a more affordable rtr kit would be the awd sports version (just a suggestion though)... i just don't know if kyosho offers the subaru as an awd with lights option...

hope this helps...

That's not the 2002 body unfortunately, the mould is different.

I have reasons for wanting the brushless version . Not looking to buy an RTR kit.

Use to race MR03 at the track, no time to go as often as I'd like. Going to try and dual purpose the MA-020VE. I know they're not competitive, but I'd like to give it a chance. Track runs all chassis' in open class.

Bump, anyone?

I swear I remember seeing an official Kyosho PDF or image of light kit compatible bodies many millennia ago.

this one?

most autoscales that accept LED take 2mm. the larger ralley/fog's are sometimes 5mm. i haven't used or made a light kit in ages though. i know kyosho sold them so might be easiest to to find their kit. trying to find the kit with lights is a moonshot.

That's the one arch2b, here's the most recent re-release. They've changed the metallic paint colour .

Thanks for the info, I was rummaging through some old parts yesterday and am pretty sure I found one of the LED plugs that goes to my old Impreza body. Can use your measurements to confirm the size.

According to Kyosho America's ebay listing the current light kit's LEDs (MZW429R) are 3mm in diameter and 4mm in depth from flange to tip. I know R246 released some crazy "active" light kits with exhaust backfiring LEDs and dimming brake lights, but I'm just interested in the basic Kyosho kit.

Will post my findings after I measure the LED plug I found, here's hoping I'm right in that it goes to the 2002 Subaru body I had 15+ years ago .

Once concern I have is that I notice all the pages mention the MZW429R is for "Sports" kits, both MR-03 and AWD chassis'. Will it not plug into and function correctly with the MA-020VE Pro SP I have coming in the mail?

Just measured the mystery LED plug, it's 3mm in diamter and 4mm in depth, same as Kyosho's current MZW429R kit, fingers crossed I'm right in that it belonged to my old Subaru body.

I've got several of the old and new 02 WRC bodies and they have 4 front and 2 rear plugs for led lights. 3mm diameter 4mm deep. Several led light kits that'll work.
